  1. I was very good on my diet and exercise program last week. Currently drinking an EAS AdvantEdge Carb Control Shake with an expiration date of January 2014. They are so bad tasting to begin with - I'm not sure how to tell if it has gone "bad". I guess this will be more evident in a few days.
  2. I get what you are saying, but it doesn't matter if they were the best or not. They won the prize. In sales - the best sales rep does not always win the sale and the commissions, But the rep who wins the sale gets EVERYTHING and the other sales rep gets nothing. The only thing that matters is who gets the sale - nothing else (ethics etc aside). So it does not matter if UConn was the best team or not.....they won the prize that ALL NCAA teams were shooting for!!! Nobody hangs a "We were the best team but didn't win the tournament" plaque in their trophy case.
  3. 9 miles over on the Interstate via cruise control. I had a spell in my life where I was starting to rack up too many speeding tickets - so something had to change. Prior - I would drive between 80-90 MPH (and faster when I wasn't paying attention), depending on where I was. I have not had a speeding ticket since adopting the new policy (knock on wood).
  4. It has become too commonplace for disrespectful behavior towards umps, refs, etc. I HATE it!! There is no reason for the yelling, screaming and derogatory comments towards them from fans and especially coaches. I think schools, leagues, and the umps and refs themselves need to stop tolerating it.
  5. Not picking on anybody in particular - but when the fouls in a game are unbalanced (47-22 was referenced above) - why is it never because one team just simply fouled more than the other? Why is it always an officiating issue?
  6. I cant believe you did either!! I watched the 30 for 30 on him, and I think it was supposed to "humanize" him............didn't work!! I still hate Christian Laettner.
  7. It doesn't matter. All that matters is that Owensboro won the State Tournament. All else is irrelevant fluff.
  8. Seemed like a good idea at the time. I love dogs. Just other people's dogs it seems. I'm kidding and really don't mind having a dog. It's basically a good dog with a few major physicological irregularities. But pretty well behaved. It's just not something I miss or even think about when I am away.
  9. I was not aware I could make lists. I'll have to check it out. Thanks
  10. I'm Verizon also. I couldn't get a live feed on my phone or Ipad. I'll need to sit in your section next year!!
  11. My question to those of you who are following hundreds of people, publications etc - how in the world to you keep up with all of the feeds? I follow 52 - and I get a ton of feeds daily. I cant imagine the congestion if I had 200. Some of you have 500-800????? I have 30 followers. I've been considering a membership drive!!! If a tweet falls on deaf ears - does it make a noise??
  12. My son was having NCAA withdrawals. My 3G worked well enough to get scores etc, but not well enough for live feeds. I agree that we were there to watch the High School games, but also agree it is a different time. Even I would like to multi-task as see the NCAA feeds from my iPad when convenient. I think it is silly the KHSAA or Rupp does not provide WiFi service for the tournament.
  13. This is something my son and I spoke about. I took my iPad so we could watch NCAA during halftime, breaks, etc. No public WiFi available, and was not able to connect via 3G. Having WiFi availability would make it more palatable when the NCAA and the Sweet 16 share the same week. Heck - I would even pay for WiFi to get access if it were available!!!
  14. I follow very few "people". Not all that interested in hearing tons of useless info from a bunch of people I don't care to hear a bunch of useless info from. I have Facebook for that.
  15. I'm with you @OlDog75, but it would be tough to turn down a GOOD job when it becomes available. If it were me, I would ask the employer if I could except the position, but get a deferred/delayed start date to accommodate completing the student teaching requirement. Another option would be to accept the position immediately, and see if the possibility exists where time-off is permitted every month/quarter etc to complete the student teaching requirement. Some employers are flexible and some are not. After all the work to get to this point - I would at least ask. I know the longer this is delayed, the less likely it is your friend will ever go back and complete this. I would try to find a way to complete it, you never know when/if the Master's will come in handy in the future. A few years from now the new job may go away, or they end up flat hating it.
  16. Wow - that is staggering!!! Any idea what the attendance totals looks like for the entire tournament for these same years??
  17. It's time!!! After a week of gorging at the Sweet 16 (which included a "one creamy-whip per session" limit) - I am now ready to get serious about working out and losing weight. Goal - lose 15 lbs by May 31st. There.....I said it. Now I am committed.
  18. 15. The sense of pride felt as a fan/parent watching your team/kids play on the floor at Rupp Arena is a feeling words cannot describe. I cherished every minute and will never forget a thing. I've gotten to do this twice now. I'm with you - cool stuff!!!!!
  19. I am one of these diehards as well. I cant imagine a time where I wont want to attend - I love it. But it is a major expense in regards to money and time. I don't mind spending either to attend. But you have to be COMMITTED to go for the entire tournament as I do. Willing to take vacation, willing to spend considerable dollars for a hotel, food, etc. I think @CincySportsFan summed it up pretty well. Too many entertainment options available today that weren't available 15-20 years ago. My college-aged son goes with me every year, but would not go if I were not footing the bill for the week. He would stay home, watch the games he wanted via the internet, and have all week to watch the NCAA games of his choice. It's great father/son time - that I cherish dearly - and he does as well. But he (and his generation) do not have the driving motivation to attend this event that I do. It's just a different time. When I stop going (hopefully not for a long time) - that will be 4 less tickets that get sold. I cant imagine my son will carry on my annual pilgrimage to "The Greatest Show in Hoops" once I decide to stop going. Even the phenomenal creamy-whips wont be enough to lure him in.
  20. I thought from the onset that owensboro was the best team in the tournament. Good to see them play well all tournament and win the title.
  21. Don't know much about greatest shots in CovCath history, but I cant imagine one bigger than that!!! Had they won that game, there would be a statue of him at the school. Clutch.
