I'm sorry, maybe I'm alone on this one. What the heck does it prove when you beat a team 70 to NOTHING!!!! I don't know either competitors in this situation, but this is CLASSLESS!!! I will say this to anyone FACE TO FACE!!! Isn't a 38-3 or 7 win just the same? I'm sure I'll get flamed for this, and I say bring it on!!! but I hate seeing these scores in high school, middle school, little league, etc. There is no place for that. I can't stand this crap happening at any level. I know I haven't always spoke up about this, but there has to be something that can be done. What about the other team??? These are KIDS, not NFL players!!! They don't deserve to be humiliated...ever. If you disagree then that says enough about you as a man to me!!!

Interesting stat about Rains and the current stat. I was debating that today. Turns out I was right. They haven't beaten Scott Co. Just wonder how much of that plays into the pysche of the kids and coaches. They certainly had their opportunities, but blew it. Yes, MC would have issues pass blocking a middle school team. Is it kids? or is it schemes?

I'd say when you look at what MC did to Oldham a couple of weeks ago, and the fact that Oldham beat Scott...I'd think you'd have to go with Central.

Campbellsville. I will even go as far as to say it will not be very close. I say C-ville wins by at least 2 touchdowns. Don't let the record fool. 2 of those losses were to Danville and LCA, in which C-ville looked good in both games.

Maybe it is just because I'm a Notre Dame fan (think vs. USC in 2005 which we still lost) but I love the idea of being able to grow your grass to however you think suits your style. Bigger, slower, power teams...grow it high. Fast, quick teams...keep it low. That's just a part of home field advantage.

Gold Sunrise, I think you're really on to something. I think it will comedown to turnovers. I just can't let it go when people bad mouth one defensive set or another. Or say that one style of offense is superior. I think it is about doing the best you can with what you've got and what you know.

Yeah guys, I came from a 1A school, so this concept of a separate freshman team is all new to me. Thanks though for the info!!! I'm doing a little research.

I was just curious as to how many schools have a separate freshman team. I remember when I played, it was just Varsity and JV. But now I know quite a few schools keep a separate Frosh team. Here are some ones I know of: Lexington Big Schools: Tates Creek, Dunbar, Bryan Station, Henry Clay, Lafayette Surrounding Area: Woodford, Madison Central, Scott Co., GRC Who else????

This really should be a great game this week. I've got a couple of really tough ones that will be taking place near my home on Friday night. I'm gonna have a tough time picking.

I don't think the 3-5-3 is a junk defense. I it is simply a variation of the old 5-3, that lends itself to using team spead to attacking the spread offenses that are so popular these days. Defensively speaking, they are 4-0...3 of wins came by holding their opponents to "0". Mercer should be solid, Oldham is decent, and Southern...well, they shouldn't play 6A teams...just not fun for anyone. Tates Creek surprised me that they got on the board more than twice. I do agree that MC will have their hands full with GRC's running game, but Central has shown in the past that they have given up massive rushing yards (like when Tates Creek put like 400yds on them) but still come out on top because of their "junk" defense creating turnovers, offense producing, and just flat out playing teams.

Glad to hear Moody is finding success. I knew that kid when he was a 7th grader. Never played football, but was a good soccer player, and really nice kid. Pretty tough in track to if I remember.

First year head coach Mark Scenters leads the Lions against a Taylor county team that is off to a solid start. This one could have a big say on the playoff picture for both teams. Should be a great match-up!!! I have a ton of respect for Scenters and his staff. Taylor county was an old high school rivalry for me. I'm going with the Golden Lions!!! This will be an old school slobber knocker!!!:fight: Garrard wins 28-24.

I would think that Estill county will be up there by mid season. They run the double wing, and only pass a handful of times per game.

Central gave up there first points of season to a less than impressive Tates Creek team. Central is a big play/turnover team. I think the biggest question is can GRC play disciplined enough against MC? I think not. Cards will keep it close at first, the Central explodes in the 3rd qtr. Final score 35-14. BTW, GRC talent wise is a scary team. Gold sunrise, what do the folks in town see them bringing the Win back to the chester?

I'm all for a horse collar rule. I would also like to see a clear cut rule on "helmet tackling." You know, when it is not a facemask, but they just literally grab the helmet and pull them down by it. WHile not a facemask, it can still cause some of the same issues with injuries and danger. I had a big fullback last year get pulled down by the rear of his helmet twice in the same game, with no call. Just looks too dangerous to ignore.

I think 2 hours is plenty. At a school the size of the Mustangs, I'd be trying every way possible just to get kids out and staying out. My max is 2.5 hrs, which I've rarely ever hit. I'd be worried about driving fence sitters away with excessive hours of practice. This isn't the NFL, the kids have lives beyond football, even if the coaches don't. I'm excited for Bossart.

Man this is terrible. I agree with all the statements on here. I really hope for the kids sake's they get this ship righted soon. Sounds like who ever does take it will be getting in 'it' deep though. I agree, it sounds like the administration is trying to write off football. Hang in there!!!! Seemed bleak for Berea a couple of years ago as well, but they toughed it out and managed to get a few wins last season, and are slated to get back into district play for the 2009 season. Granted, they got screwed on their district, but they're still up and running.
