  1. Is this correct? According to the KHSAA website - the 10th Region plays the 11th Region at 10th Region and 9th Region plays 12th Region at 12th Region - both on October 28th. 2013 Kentucky High School Boys Soccer
  2. NCC beats Highlands 2-1 at Highlands in the district final game. NCC's Matt Tolle scored the first goal of the game from an assist from Gault Nolan. Highlands scored in the middle of the second half - not sure who scored. Connor Hanneken scored winning goal for NCC on an assist from Tolle. Tippenhauer made a couple impressive saves in goal in the second half for Highlands. Congrats to NCC for 3rd consecutive district title. Good luck to both teams in the Region.
  3. You are correct, NCC is hosting the Boys Sectional game at Morscher Field. The game was originally scheduled to be played at 6:00 but they were trying to get an earlier start time since there are no lights.
  4. The price has been $6 all season and we actually paid $6 today. Someone working the gate probably let you in for $5 and someone was being sarcastic with the Cov Cath remark. Come on people - it is a $1 you are complaining about - who cares? Sorry our "cow pasture/dump" isn't up to your standards.
  5. NCC didn't play as well as they have the last few games - weren't winning the ball, passing as well, didn't maintain their intensity and there were several defensive breakdowns. They had a few chances in the beginning of the game where the keeper was beat, but couldn't capitalize because Cov Cath's defense cleared the ball or the shot was no good. I'm not even sure how Cov Cath scored two of their goals so easily in the second half and then they actually broke down some and let NCC come back and score twice at the very end of the game. I personally do not think this game was that rough compared to some of the games I have seen this year. I don't think the flow of the game was interrupted that much due to fouls. The NCC vs Boone Co and NCC vs Highlands games were a different story. The flow of the game was killed in both of those game due to the large amounts of fouls that were called, in my opinion some of them should have just been ignored (on both sides). The Boone Co. game was a very rough game and it seemed like every minor thing was called but some blatant fouls were ignored and the game got a little out of control for awhile.
  6. NCC beats Boone Co. this afternoon at Boone. NCC scores an early first half goal by Connor Hanneken. Boone Co. awarded a penalty kick due to a handball in the box and they score (didn't hear the player's name). Boone's keeper (Espinoza) made several excellent saves in the first half. NCC scores in the second half on a header by Jacob Hensley on a long throw in from John Murrin. Boone rallied in the end of the half but NCC played great defense and keeper Paul Grosser made some excellent stops.
  7. NewCath scores two early goals and then two more to end the first half 4-0. St. Henry scores in the second half and NCC scores on a free kick. Goals: Matt Tolle (2), Ryan Randle, Evan Brannon, Pat Louis Assists: Pat Louis, Connor Hanneken, Noah Connolly, Matt Tolle NewCath plays the winner of the 10th Region in a sectional game - TBD. Great game Breds.

  11. There are a lot of kids that go to NCC from St. Joe's in Cold Spring. Believe it or not, there are actually kids that decide to go to NCC in the 7th or 8th grade and have no affiliation with NCC. Do you really think their parents need to withrdrawal them from St. Joe's and send them to an NCC feeder school? There are many kids from St. Joe's that never play on an NCC team while they are in grade school. Even the families that think their kids will probably eventually go to NCC may have chosen to live in "southern" Campbell County because they wanted to live in a newer subdivision or build a new house - these options are very limited in the area of NCC's feeder schools. They send their kids to St. Joes' or St. Mary's because of proximity and maybe the benefit of bus service. There are no "rules" that you cannot attend a high school outside of your feeder high school. If NCC lost all of the Wilder, Highland Heights, Cold Spring, Alexandria, etc. kids they would be hurting - the diocese would not allow this. Even if some sort of additional fee was imposed on families whose kids enrolled outside of their "district" high school, I don't think it would change anything. This isn't just a sports issue, Brossart has an problem with all these kids going to NCC anyway. I just don't understand why anyone would even care that a 13 or 14 year old who will never attend their high school is playing on a Freshman team at NCC. I think some people need to worry more about why they can't attract more kids to their high school. And not every single kid that goes to NCC has some relative or allegiance to NCC, they decide to attend NCC because they feel NCC is a better school or better fit for them than Brossart.
  12. And the boys and girls basketball teams both won the All-A region and played in the All-A state tournament. Also, the boys soccer team made it to the All-A state tournament. The NCC JV baseball team won the Junior Varsity Championship this year too. GO BREDS!!!
  13. Can anyone post the backets for the Freshman Tournament? I know Covington Catholic plays Newport Central Catholic tonight at Florence Freedom in the second round but have not heard anything about any other games.
  14. Did St. Henry really play NCC on Thursday? According to the KHSAA scoreboard the following are the other two games St. Henry has played this year and they have NCC's first game as next week. Mar 21, 11 Campbell County away 9 - 8 (W) Mar 24, 11 Bourbon County away 1 - 8 (L)
  15. Yes, I was thinking the same thing. I know that there is always complaining, etc. amoungst the parents in some boys sports there also but maybe they have learned to keep their mouths shut; Or they don't go running to the AD everytime something happens they don't like or maybe they are just ignored by the AD.
  16. The Campbell county kids on the Rockets are Alex Trentman (St. Mary's), Eric Rieger, Nick Johnson, Jake Schulte, Conner Hanneken and Evan Sepate (all from St. Joe's Cold Spring). Grant Schreiver is the St. Pius player.
  17. If if started for SK Varsity as an 8th grader will he be allowed to play varsity for Brossart this year?
  18. Brossart will have to play their 'A' game to get past Campbell County. Brossart has had inconsistent hitting and pitching problems this year. You never know with these big rivalry games what may happen though.
  19. Congrats to Cooper. I heard they played great defense and Brossart wasn't able to hit the ball out of the infield. On the other hand, Cooper took advantage of a very windy day and kept Brossart's outfielders busy trying to catch hard hit balls that were sailing everywhere.
  20. Brossart's JV team has beaten both Cov Cath and NCC. Campbell County's JV are very good. Brossart lost to them twice in the beginning of the season.
  21. The St. Joseph Bluejay Classic is the longest running grade school tournament in the area - 49 years. It runs for four or five weekends and has great competition. It is a high school game like atmosphere with theme nights, blarring music, free give-aways, cheerleaders and the stands are always packed. It gets very, very loud.
