I think NCC needed a bucket.........the CCH shots were raining down on them. Colonels win 4-3 but it was not that close. A couple NCC goals in the last 10 minutes vs. some subs but the Colonels handled them fairly easily. NCC is big, rough and has some speed..........not a whole lot else.

Free is too much for a soccer game. :laugh:

Just kidding. I don't mind kicking in 5 bucks to help a school out, but it irks me when they hit you up for more than 5 and want more than 1 or 2 for a young kid.

Maybe we are both old bastards, but I agree. I'm OK with charging, but you have to have facilities to accommodate. Also, concessions and bathrooms. I used to get frustrated when I would take my family to watch their cousins play a Non-Varsity sport. Charging $3 for 1st and 2nd grader is a bit beyond IMO. Trust me, let them in for free and they will take more than that to the concession stand. As it stands, I go to a lot of games by myself rather than drop $20 for the family to get in and then another $10 at concessions.

 

I think a good rule (or Conference agreement) would be to allow Students in for Free. I never understood charging students to go see a game.

 

That said, I think each program at NCC does their own gate. I know they recently started charging for non-varsity baseball. I asked a guy and he said they just do it to provide funds for the field maintenance. Don't know if he's right, but that field on Rt. 8 did look much better this year.

It is my understanding that the County provides the maintenance on the Moerscher park. I'm sure the lining of the fields and specifc sports related items cost....but providing filler dirt, etc, is county paid......

.....but still......unless I can wash my hands, or not go without seeing what someone else had for lunch (if you know what I mean), I personally wouldn't be charging at the top level of the scale.

 

It costs me $5 bucks to get into Trinity.....and Chick-fil-et was in the concession stand....

$6 to get into a field that was a glorified cow pasture..........with a concession stand run out of the back of a truck..........and a port-o-let with a door that would not even lock.......and not enough stands for everyone. Yes.........that's worth $1 more than anyone else charges.

Are you paying to see a soccer game or go to the concession stand? I believe most schools charge $6 for a HS basketball/football games. Are you saying soccer is a level below basketball or football?

I think schools should do away with honoring any passes and revenue would go up. No offiense to any coaches, but the assistant freshman bowling coach at Highlands should not be getting in free to a soccer game at Moesher between NCC and Cov. Cath.

As far as facilities go, I think you would be hard pressed to find two programs who do more with less than NCC and Brossart. Other than gyms neither school has much, but yet they seem to produce solid teams in most everything they do (exception being Mustang football of course, which is still in its infancy and facing a tough uphill battle).
