Is there a rule about admission prices?

Featured Replies

Are you paying to see a soccer game or go to the concession stand? I believe most schools charge $6 for a HS basketball/football games. Are you saying soccer is a level below basketball or football?

Just charge what everyone else charges...........which is $5/adult. Is that so hard?

I think schools should do away with honoring any passes and revenue would go up. No offiense to any coaches, but the assistant freshman bowling coach at Highlands should not be getting in free to a soccer game at Moesher between NCC and Cov. Cath.

Bowling IS a sport. I bowled in HS. I was #10........it was written on the back of my shoes....... :jump:

Then I assume you also feel that teachers should have to pay as well, instead of using their pass for home games?

Food for thought (pun intended) Id say some of your coaches who show up and get in via their pass normally are rushing from their own practice to catch a game, and swing by the concession stand and pony up for some grub.

So let's put a few things into perspective......it's high school soccer which typically draws an average of 100 or so fans per game. So a $1.00 extra for admission isn't going to make or break a high school. As for the facilities at the game, not the best but it's a field that NCC can call their own and I'm sure they will be making more improvements over the next few years. It's my understanding that the county doesn't provide any support for either the baseball or soccer fields. All maintenance and improvements to both facilities has been supported through the parents of each team............By the way, did anyone notice that Senior Citizens were admitted for free????

Who gets in free to me is much more problematic than who has to pony up the extra $1 without the benefit of being able to wach their hands. :D

The list of who "deserves" to get in on a pass is a long one that doesn't end. Work a high school gate and you will see exactly what I mean. I will say that I would be much more inclined to allow a faculty or staff member from a participating schools in free, but a coach in an unrelated sport from a non particpating school should not.

Tea.....Welcome.......good first post.....

However, the County does do the maintenance......at least for the basebal fields......on some scale.

They brought in truck after truck and levelled the outfield and provided other support to the in-field improvements as well......

BTW....I would rank Moerscher close to the top of baseball playing surfaces for last year's season.......best grass infield I've seen in a long, long time......

Hopefully this is also applied to the soccer area, and it could turn into the best grass in NKY.......

Now, with that said.......This is what I was told by someone in Campbel Cty Rec dept during a baseball game......If I'm mistaken, I'll be the first to step up, but no reason to doubt my very reliable source.

I do stand corrected as our definition of maintenance is slightly different. The county did assist with bringing in the top soil for the baseball field which came from Tower Park (Highlands) when they installed their turf. However, it's a dedicated group of parents who tirelessly perform the ongoing maintenance of the fields and the construction of all the facilities (limited at this point). The county does maintain outside of the fields and the little soccer fields to the right when you enter the park.

In any case, it's been a long hull for a school that's land locked and not much available space in Campbell County to develop their own complex. Hopefully, they'll be able to continue with the improvements and make the fields an enjoyable experience for both the players and fans. As our friends at CCHS, NDA, St. Henry, Brossart and NCC know, it's not easy developing and maintaining their sports complexes without the aid of state funding.

Which of these schools will be the first to install a new instant replay scoreboard?

I just blew Sparkling Ice from my nose. Thank god it has zero calories. Hilarious. Kudos.

Really,Old Time, has CCH ever won a close game that "wasn't really that close" or "the bench was emptied". I don't have a rooting interest in CCH OR NCC, you're just a little too predictable.

First, just be glad soccer isn't popular enough for Gamble to do a Cross-Town showdown where you have the privilege of paying $5 to park, $10 to get in, $5 for a program and then the game gets called at halftime.

Second, I know a lot of coaches use their passes for events but I'm going to give them a pass (pun intended) because gosh they make about 79 cents of hour as bowling coach or assistant track coach or whatever.

Free is too much for a soccer game.

Just kidding. I don't mind kicking in 5 bucks to help a school out, but it irks me when they hit you up for more than 5 and want more than 1 or 2 for a young kid.

Great minds think alike.

Welcome to the party. I'm honored to be called out on your first post but I need more details please. It was a long night driving home from the football game but after reviewing the entire post, I still can't find anything in here that you could be referencing. More than happy to give you my thoughts, but need more please......

....being as predictable as I am.....you probably knew this reply was coming.....

I'll be the 1st to admit.........I take full advantage of my KHSAA coaches pass. Go to every (home and away) NewCath football, basketball, volleyball, & some soccer, as well as, maybe 5-6 unrelated football games and a good 20 plus basketball games. Coaches pass gets me and a guest free admission to any Ky high school regular season sporting event , as well as, some playoff and tournament events. Also gets you in free to some college venues as well.:thumb:

BTW, the last 4 years my salary for coaching.......ZIP, ZERO ,NADA. Only softball head coaches at NewCath get a stipend, the lowly assistant makes up for it with the coaches pass. :lol2:

It is my understanding that the County provides the maintenance on the Moerscher park. I'm sure the lining of the fields and specifc sports related items cost....but providing filler dirt, etc, is county paid......

I think scoreboard, press box is where the funds will be going....

.....but still......unless I can wash my hands, or not go without seeing what someone else had for lunch (if you know what I mean), I personally wouldn't be charging at the top level of the scale.

It costs me $5 bucks to get into Trinity.....and Chick-fil-et was in the concession stand....

WRONG!!!! The baseball field is maintained by the baseball parents, in particular Steve Kroger who doesn't even have a kid on the team (has 3 girls). Soccer parents take care of the soccer field. The County does ZIP to either field.
