  1. I think you have some young talent that will develop throughout the season, Your current sophmores and freshman did win the 1oth region tournament last year and for the most part have been playing together since the 2nd and 3rd grade. I think by post season you will see some significant contributions from the younger bench players. Thats also the nice outlook for the future
  2. You also have Brooke Mosler, a couple sophmores besides Douglas and some freshman that will help them off the bench this year
  3. Sumo like you I also have an opionion. I think things are more simple than all of what you said. Coaches change, tournaments change, summer camps change, but one thing that never changes is that no one likes to get beat. Yes Coach Douglas did choose not to attend the camp but thats her prerogative. As the new coach she felt changes had to be made in order for her team to get better and compete in the 39th district, and in hind site looks like a pretty good decision. The Mt Dew shootout schedule issue is not exactly as you reported. St Pat did not wait till the last minute to let Mason County know of the scheduling conflict the only thing that was last minute was the rearranging and by then St Pat had already committed to another game. But the part of your comment that I find the most troubling is that you think Coach Douglas used the games last year against Mason County to make a name for herself. Coach Douglas was and still is a very respected coach in the area and in the Cincinnati area with AAU teams long before she became varsity coach. She won several championships with her grade school and middle school teams who are now the freshman, jv, and varsity of St Pat. I dont understand your statement of how she was smart and chose last year to beat Mason county. She did not choose for your seniors to graduate I believe they did that on their own. She did not choose for Mason County to have a rebuilding year instead of a reloading year like they usually have. The only thing Coach Douglas chose to do was work hard and make her team better than any team in a long time at St Pat. I don't think new coaches, summer camps, or Mt Dew shootouts have a lot to do with this years regular season schedule. In my opinion it has more to do with a 33 point loss in the district. But how short memories can be when your used to winning by a large margin like the 49 point win Mason had over St Pat in the 06-07 season. But like you Sumo thats just my opinion......:sssh:
  4. Looks like the decision not to play St Pat is strictly a basketball thing because baseball has already scheduled them for next year
  5. Not sure why St Pat is not being favored to win. They finished as runner up to Paris, and beat Bracken last year in district. I think they are under estimated
  6. We are just very lucky to have Coack Douglas and as far as I am concerned the program was in a downward spiral and no matter who was on the roster things were not getting better. Douglas is the best coach St Patrick girls have ever had and will be very exciting to watch for a few years to come. But thats just my opinion
  7. You must be kidding. The program has advanced miles past where it used to be.:scared:
  8. We played in the Thomas More Camp last week and our JV team played at Dixie on court #2 the heat in there was terrible. We played two games back to back with only 7 players for the first and 9 about half way through the second. The heat was so bad that the ref stopped the game to let one girl leave the floor who couldnt breath. However when you walked around the corner the big gym was ice cold. Go figure.
  9. Very nice camp but they need to work on the air conditioning in gym #2 at Dixie, it was almost unbearable for the fans sitting on the bleachers I cant even imagine trying to play in it, especially two games back to back.
  10. No she is staying. She has a very nice team with only 3 seniors and 1 junior and some talented kids in 8th, freshman, and sophmores. She is very well liked by the parents. She has a good chance to win a lot of games this year maybe more than last and go even further in some tournaments.
  11. The teams at the camp are: Varsity: Oak Hills Walton Verona Mother of Mercy Boone County McAuley St. Patrick St. Henry Holmes Highlands Scott Williamstown Seven Hills Bellevue Maderia Cooper Ludlow Cincinnati Country Day JV Dixie (jv host school) Mother of Mercy Boone County 1 Scott St Patrick Boone County 2 St Henry
  12. Know what for sure. I think I know alot about the program but not sure of what your asking.
  13. Did BB make a decision today if so who will be the new coach
  14. Paying the coach was not the problem. Cutting back and using certified teachers to an efficient manner was why the decision was made. The person that will be teaching PE has an excellent background and actually the students are concerned because exercising will be much tougher under the new PE teacher. You also have two other programs that were tremendouly successful this past year the Lady Saints Basketball who were district champs and Lady Saints softball who were district runners-up to a great Bracken team.
  15. St Pat will continue to have a physical education program. Someone already teaching at St Pat will be teaching the class. Streamlining is being done to eliminate the budget situation at the school, please remember St Pat has to be run as a business since we do not get any tax dollars (unlike some big businesses in this country we cant get a bailout from the goverment). St Patrick is the same as any business in Maysville at the moment and tightening there belt. I wish Jason all the best he was a fine coach and gentlemen and I enjoyed pitching in to help out when he first took over the team.
  16. I think Mason County fans may see the greatest player in the 10th region a little different, not to forget Ronnie Lyons, Chris Lofton, oh yea and that other kid by the name of Darius Miller.
  17. Some are suggesting on a boys bball post that the ladies may have a new coach next year. If so how will that affect the season.
  18. I had the opportunity to watch Coach Hinson play against a very athletic group just this past Monday night and he was lighting it up from 3-point land.
  19. Why are you speculating on the fate of St Patrick School this poll is who would be the better coach, not wheter St Patrick will stay open. I am positive that St Patrick will be around longer than either of these two coaches will be at Bracken County. Steps are being taken that will secure St Patricks future, and with that will come some belt tightening that may force choices for some of the staff. I hope everyone will refrain from making wild unfounded statements, that only serve to hurt the school, students, athletes and the community.
  20. Bracken County vs Mason County St. Patrick vs Augusta
  21. Unfortunately several games have been cancelled or postponed due to weather and other events. St Pat also will play Mason, Bracken, and Nicholas this year, unless they are not considered to be tougher competition. I have followed these girls the past 3 years and they are much better than they have been. I look for good things for the next few years.
  22. The Lady Saints played very well Saturday. The team has a lot of young and first time players that are getting better every day. We are very proud of all these young ladies. Hopefully the player on the DL will be back in the line up very soon.
