Lady Saints Softball

Featured Replies

Lady Saints departed for Silver Grove early on Saturday to play two double headers and came home with a 4-0 record for the day improving their season record to 7-1.

The Lady Saints started the day against Silver Grove, winning the first game 11-4 and coming back in the second to win 13-10.

After a short break the Saints took on Holy Cross and won the first game 6-2 and again came back in the second game to win 11-8.

With only 13 girls on the team, one of which is on the DL, I have to say they stood up to the challenge pretty well. The injured player is also a pitcher, so they played the four games (28 innings) with a very limited pitching staff.

Good Job Lady Saints!!!!

The Lady Saints played very well Saturday. The team has a lot of young and first time players that are getting better every day. We are very proud of all these young ladies. Hopefully the player on the DL will be back in the line up very soon.

The Lady Saints team is coming together nicely. They are several players that are new to softball, but are improving everyday. Two of the four games that they won Saturday were won on comebacks on the other team in the last two innnings. Good job Lady Saints. Good Luck on the rest of your season.

They are certainly better, and should definitely have a winning record, considering they play Silver Grove 4 times, Holy Cross and Sayre 2 times, Augusta 3 times, and Deming once. In order to truly get better, they are going to need to play a tougher schedule in the next couple of years.

They didn't have enough players to field a team until 1 week prior to the start of the season. They have never had a winning record. They lost 53 straight games, many by humiliating scores, and yes, some of the current players were playing at that time. Now they are competitive, having fun, winning a few games, albeit with schools of their size. I truly think they may be better. Great job Lady saints and don't ever give up.

Maybe if their administration did not put that ridiculous rule on kids not allowed to play up more than one grade they would have enough numbers Thats great their winning but the only way to get better is playing better competition.

Unfortunately several games have been cancelled or postponed due to weather and other events. St Pat also will play Mason, Bracken, and Nicholas this year, unless they are not considered to be tougher competition. I have followed these girls the past 3 years and they are much better than they have been. I look for good things for the next few years.
