  1. Have you seen St Patrick play this year? Saying that Bracken has better post players is quite a stretch. Klee has had double doubles in several games. She had a tremendous game against the #2 ranked team in the 10 region. Chamberlain had 5 three pointers and a game high 21 points against a very good West Carter team in Olive Hill. And not to mention St. Patrick won against Bracken at Bracken. Not to take anything away from the Bracken post players but to say that Bracken definitely has the best post players is a stretch.

  3. Wondering if anyone went to the Fleming Co / Bracken Co game? I heard it was pretty much a blowout was Fleming defense that good?
  4. I think that Deming can be a dark horse as well. Very physical team that plays a tough defense. If they can stay out of foul trouble I believe they may be the suprise team. However after watching last nights game I think St. Patrick should win the tournament. St. Pat showed a lot of heart last night being up by 9 and then trailing by 7 to come back and tie the game with about a minute left was huge boost for the teams confidence. In the past they would have laid down and let Clark roll to a 15 point win. Good game Saints I think you are one of the top teams in the 10th.
  5. Ronnie Lyons.....if the 3 point rule had been in affect his numbers would have been out of this world.

  7. It really comes down to a parent being responsible. If you see a situation that is not in the best interest of your child no matter if its athletics or and ill advised field trip in the face of bad weather, then it is the parents responsibility...no its the parents DUTY to remove your child from harms way. I all to well understand that some parents dont think the same way as the majority of parents do, but in that case an athletic event may be the best place for the child.
  8. I personally have first hand experience with a child playing up. I will tell you the same thing I told our school administration when playing up was an issue. I personally know my daughter better than anyone in this world. I have her best interest at the top of my list, not the school's, not the basketball program, or any other sport. She has talent and the last thing I want is an injury of any type.......but let me be the parent. I will make the right decision for my child. LET ME MAKE THE DECISION FOR MY CHILD. My child played on a varsity team (different sport) as a 6th grader and was very competitive. She is bigger than most her age and very athletic and very mature. The worst thing for anyone is to make broad sweeping changes that affect everyone. As for Ohio's rules good for them, but know one has the right to look down there noses at Ky sports, I have done some research on the issue and Ky has no higher rate of negitive incidents involving athletes, (injury, dropping out, etc) than Ohio or other like states.
  9. Yes, that was the silver lining the JV picked up a game that wouldn't have played in Paris.
  10. Our prayers are with the family. I can't imagine the mother being the first to arrive, how tragic on so many levels. God Bless!!!!!
  11. They will play in the tourney after Christmas in Bourbon County
  12. Not playing in Paris Friday night somehow they got left out............... They will be traveling to East Carter a last minute change but Coach Douglas found them a game its now on the KHSAA site as scheduled.
  13. St. Patrick played Bourbon at home tonight. 14. I actually emailed someone at the All A classic site. They emailed me back asking what sport I was inquiring about ( I forgot to mention girls basketball in my first email to them). I have not heard anything since I let them know I was interested in girls basketball and that was over two weeks ago. I will try that email again today and see if they have any further information. Im sorry I mis-read the question, my email was concerning tournament sites.
  15. Once again the wrong people are being scrutinized and possibly punished. High school and colleges alike have coaches and administrators that chose to break the rules but rarely are they held accountable. They simply stay in place or move to another coaching position while the institution and the athletes are punished. How many of the athletes can actually affect how a coach or administration runs a program. KHSAA should start penalizing coaches and or administrators and absolutely give athletes the chance to transfer if they have no involvement in the violation.
  16. Who are the favorites now in the 10th region and specifically the 39th district with the new coaches, injured players and holes to fill due to graduation?
  17. I think parents in general cause a lot of turmoil within most athletic departments. With playing time being the number one issue. I feel that parents tend to complain less to or about boys coaches because they are men but for some reason they feel its ok to complain to and about the girls coach. I think the gender issue comes squarely into play here. I think in general parents are less apt to take on a male coach versus a female coach.
  18. Keep your eye on Coach Douglas at St. Patrick. She has done great things with the middle school program and I think she will have the same success with the high school program.
  19. Anyone have any details of how the teams faired in the Paris camp this past week?
  20. I don't think we should be passing judgement on anyone at St.Patrick School system until the facts on why Lex is leaving is made public. I feel certain that there are circumstances that we are not aware of in this decision. It will be very hard to replace Lex at St. Pat in any of his capacities. However sometimes changes are necessary for many reasons and some will never be known by the public nor should they be. Lex is a good person, coach, and A.D., he will be missed. I hope Lex enjoys whatever he decides to do. If it were me I would sit back and enjoy some time off he has earned it.
  21. A coach told me the drawings are Friday the 15th but she was not sure if they are at 10 am or 2 pm
  22. Does anyone know when and where the 39th district draw will be held? Is it one draw for both boys and girls or is it seperate?
  23. St. Patrick is still a very young team. Last year two sixth graders got some significant minutes later in the season. Those two plus some the good freshman pitcher and the other young players should make the next few seasons very exciting for St. Patrick fans.
  24. Coach Douglas is doing a great job. Most of the girls from sophmore down to the 8th grade have played for Coach Douglas in middle school and grade school so they are very in tune with her style of coaching. The juniors and senior are also doing very well adapting to the new style of play. The Lady Saints will be fun to watch during the district tourney. I wouldn't want to draw them in the tourney I think they can be dangerous because they are to young to be scared and have enough talent to give anyone a good game.
  25. I was at the game last night. Well over half of the turnovers were due to some very tough defensive pressure. Both coaches did a wonderful job of changing up the defenses. I can't remember more than two trips down the floor with the same defenses being played. Holy Cross is an excellent team that are very fundamentally sound, that with the inexperience of a very young St. Patrick team that played maybe only two juniors at any one time and there only senior with a cast on her arm seems to be the basis for the number of turnovers. The game was a very hard fought game the number of times that you saw players on the floor for loose balls and those stepping in to try and take a charge made the game very entertaining. Congratulations to two very well coached teams you will see a lot from both of these teams in the future.
