  1. Not sure what game you watched but the official foul total at the end of the first half was Bracken 12 fouls St Pat 11
  2. Thats funny, Bracken got the short end. How many foul shots did Bracken shoot. I believe more fouls were called on St Pat than Bracken. Holding a jersey may not be good but intentionally trying to foul and hurt players is a lot worse and to be honest thats the only way Bracken stayed in the game. At first they tried to go heads up with St Pat and that didnt work 12-2 start. So a time out was called and then the football game began. And are you serious about the Payne name comment or should I explain some things to the other readers on here.
  3. The officiating last night was less than stellar. Not because of calls for or against either team but because of the inconsistancy of the calls. One trip down the floor girls would completely run over the other team and nothing would be called. The next trip a hand check or bump would be whistled. I know everyone has an off day but for an official not to be able to remember who committed the foul or who was to be shooting the free throws on at least three occaisions is pathetic. I understand getting the twins for St Patrick mixed up but I think thats why they insist of everyone on a team wearing a different number. I think that the association that the officials are members of should do more site visits and evaluate there officials. They should especially go the the games where weaker officials are assigned those are the guys that need help. On that subject why are smaller schools always assigned the weaker less experienced officials, do they get to pay less for them......I don't think so. Can you imagine sending the two officals of last nights game to a Lexington Catholic or Montgomery county, there would be riots and police escorts to get them out of the building. As for the number of foul shots St Pat shot, if all the fouls were called they should have attemped at least 75 shots. It was a very rough game and the officials are squarely the blame for it. Keep the game in control early and you won't have the near blood bath we saw last night with the fouls in the end that border being flagrant. Come on Bluegrass Association share your wealth of talented officials with all the schools no matter the size, you and the officials all get the same compensation, or are you afraid to expose your weakness by sending some of these officials to the big games where a ton more people will see them.............. ?
  4. The intensity was outstanding. Lady Saints had good support from the bench and that will only get better with more JV games. You know that the Lady Saints will not shoot 25% from the field in the first half of very many games.
  5. Lady Saints had 33 steals and 42 rebounds with their leading rebounder on the bench several minutes with foul difficulties (some not deserved).
  6. Should be a good game, haven't seen Bourbon play any this year though.
  7. She has potential, did good at rebounding, needs to develop some moves on the inside but thought she looked like a prospect. St Pats inside is not that big so they are always playing bigger kids so they are decent around the basket.
  8. Final score St Pat 36 Bishop Brossart 31. Nice game close all the way through the game.
  9. According to my daughter she did have another injury may miss this season also
  10. With the season right around the corner can you speculate on 39th district starters and maybe the 6th man?
  11. Thanks for the info I wanted to attend but was not able.
  12. Does anyone know outcomes from the Panorama. Been reading this site since the Panorama and dont see a lot of results.
  13. Hearing some talk this weekend from people in the know at Mason County that Neal will not play any basketball this season.
  14. You may be correct I havent checked most of the Class A schools except St. Pat. and they play 3 of your 4 picks. Plus other very tough teams such as Rowan, and several Northern Ky teams. I think St. Pat will be one of the top teams in the region.
  15. Im not to worried about more football this year or even basketball its obvious he is headed for bigger things as a college QB I just hope this injury doesnt jeopordize his future.
  16. WOW big news from the Mason County football game Neil Pawsat injured in first quarter and according to the coach he may not return this football season. He said from what he knows he is not very optimistic about the injury. Very big blow for the football but also for basketball as well
  17. I think with the economy as bad as it is and the gas prices on the rise again, all schools except Mason and Clark should save there gas money and not play this year. We should just meet at the fieldhouse in March and watch the regional finals. Well maybe not lets just go ahead and play the season maybe some of us poor untalented schools can have a good time just playing for 3rd.
  18. I have seen entire team that was rough to borderline dirty. If an entire team plays that way then I think it is coached.
  19. The nice thing about this year is that you have 2 and sometimes three players for each position obviously some are stronger than others but you will be able to give breathers to everyone on the floor without seriously affecting your play. All of these girls have played together for a while now and know how each other plays thats a big plus for any team.
  20. How lucky can you be to get a foreign exchange student that fills the most critical position on a ball team.......:eek:
