  1. It appears that HJ congratulated exactly who he wished to congratulate.
  2. :confused:Gary Who?...Played for Ludlow? When?;)JK
  3. :thumb:Outstanding coach. Great motivator and has excellent people skills to go along with his deep knowledge of the game. Like it or not in order to be a good coach you have to be a good communicator not only with your players but also with their parents, boosters and the community in which they have the privilege to work. Some coaches seem to get it and then there are others that don't..Coach Stamm gets it..:ylsuper:
  4. :thumb:That's a fair post. I was mostly using Bracken as an example. Gallatin and someone else on a similar level would suit me fine. I agree with your comments regarding Grant. They are just out growing the Panthers.
  5. :thumb:I would definitely agree that Ludlow is on the right track with a very quality individual in Coach Hornsby as the Head Coach and some very good young assistants who are eager to teach football the right way. Rather refreshing to see this take place in Ludlow.
  6. Tough loss for the Panthers as it sounds as if they got a bit banged up in this one. Glad to see they have a bye coming up so some of the youngmen can take care of some of their injuries. Ludlow needs to consider dropping the likes of Grant, Scott and Lloyd from their schedule in the future and play strictly Class A competition. Walton will be in their district next year so that is one that they will play and they might consider adding Gallatin and Bracken COs or some similar type competition. Congratulations to Grant Co and good luck to both teams the rest of the season.
  7. Often times in what could be a very close game like this a coaches decision might be what wins or loses the game for his team. If this turns out to be the case I give the edge to Coach McMillen. Just think he is a much calmer influence on his team then what the opposition may have available to them and will ultimately handle the pressure a lot better.
  8. :lol:Coach Beard always had a very "colorful" way of getting his point across..
  9. Honestly I never thought the game was in any doubt. Ludlow made a number of mistakes and errors that hurt them over and over thru out the night that IMO cost them a number of scores. They should have been up by 30 at the half and won by more then 40. To Brossarts credit they played hard and at least let Ludlow know they weren't just going to roll over and play dead for them.
  10. Stamm would be a good choice and probably a popular choice amongests the players and supporters of the Ludlow program. Certainly knows how to get the most out of kids and earns their respect by his own hard work. His basketball teams have done exceedingly well the past few years and I do believe he helped former baseball Coach Woody McMillen when Ludlow had some success in the past. Stamm is a dedicated worker and one who would at least add some stability to a baseball program that for the past few years has been something of a revolving door. Regardless of who the Ludlow school picks for this post they need to get it done. If I'm not mistaken this looks a lot like last year when it took them until after the holidays to get a new coach. By waiting so long they are only doing the kids and the program a big disservice.
  11. I would have to check to be certain but I do believe Ludlow and Grant Co played last year with Grant Co. coming out on top. Ludlows team this year has far more leadership (Players and Coaches) this year then was exhibited last year IMO.. Should be a good game that won't surprise me with whomever wins. As for Coach Logan it might be nice if he showed just alittle emotion don't you think? (lol..JK) Coach Logan is the type of positive role model that Ludlows young players need to be exposed to. He has a very positive passion that is transfered to the kids that will serve him well as a coach in the future. Coach Hornsby and Coach Logan are doing a tremendous job.
  12. Ludlow will come ready to play after two so so weeks against Brossart and Pendleton. Should be a close contest.
  13. I'll be pulling for Coach McMillen and his Bearcats in this one. Walton 27 Cooper 12
  14. Take a look at what former Ludlow star Mike Lewis is now doing at Georgetown as their starter this year. I remember a former BGPs member and Ludlow supporter who sang his praises and got shot down everytime he tried to mention him with Ellison or Stellman. Lewis is now getting his chance to play as a junior and is doing quite well. For my money I would take Mike Lewis as my QB over anyone I have seen play the last 6 or 7 years. Ernst does a nice job but it seems that lately all he does is compile list and tell us what the best games are to go watch. He seems to think the only good football is played at HHS, Beechwood,CCH, NewCath, Boone Cty and tends to act as if the the smaller schools don't ever turn out any good athletes. True the big schools will always have more but for my money Mike Lewis could have played QB then with any school in NKY. Good luck Mike Lewis and continued success.
  15. Walton 28 Cooper 12 whenever that game takes place..Come on Coach McMillen, I got to believe you really want to win this one now don't you.:ylsuper:
  16. 4 Seniors this year should give Stamm his best team yet. Hardin 6'2" Ottaway 5'11" and Daughtery 5'10" (Div III Player of the Year) and Brook Jones a consistent player at the guard position gives Ludlow a legitimate chance to make a run in the Class A tourney and even scare a few of the big boys. Guard play and play off the bench will be crucial. Freshmen guard Hanna King played well this summer and will probably start and handle the ball quite a bit. 3 juniors off the bench Megan Vohl, Courtney Turner and Bekak Cooper all showed promise this summer at various times and if Stamm gets quality minutes from those 3 he should have quite possibly his best team ever. Daughtery needs to continue to be the force she has been and add a 10 to 12 foot jump shot, Hardin has a lot of ability but needs to be more consistent and aggressive on a nightly basis, Ottaway needs to stay out of foul trouble and add some additional inside scoring and Jones has to want the ball in her hands when the game is on the line and be a vocal leader. Are the Panthers good enough to beat Dixie this upcoming year? Absolutely but the Seniors on this team need to believe they are. They need to realize they have alot of talent this year and this is their last opportunity for them to do something that maybe other Ludlow teams haven't been able to do to this point. Good luck Panthers and Coach Stamm..one of the areas finest young coaches along with a very good staff to compliment him.
  17. After watching the ICN6 Class A Preview show with Don Weber it seems that there is a new attitude amongest the players and new found respect by the players for Coach Hornsby and his staff. This attitude seems to be very similar to when Coach Hensley was the Panther coach and something that had started to suffer in the program since he left. Good luck to Coach Hornsby and the Ludlow Panthers..
  18. :thumb:18 and 4 and 16 and 6 in 2 years and the reward is how about helping out with the freshmen team. Doesn't make much sense to me but not much does when it comes to the Ludlow boys program. The only thing Coach Creutz is guilty of is being a fine coach and well liked by the by his players and their parents. So who will be the JV coach at Ludlow this coming season? From what I hear it has been something of a revolving door with assistant coaches for whatever reason.
  19. :thumb:Well said which means before long Beechwoodfan, UNC-5 or ZX3 will post a comment that you don't know what your talking about. It seems the only ones upset by this soccer issue happens to be those 3. Oh yea and the FORMER Coach. I agree HJ, quitting as he did when he did causes me to believe IMO he has lost all creditability. I feel sorry for the girls on the team. They deserved better.
