Tough loss for the Panthers as it sounds as if they got a bit banged up in this one. Glad to see they have a bye coming up so some of the youngmen can take care of some of their injuries.

Ludlow needs to consider dropping the likes of Grant, Scott and Lloyd from their schedule in the future and play strictly Class A competition. Walton will be in their district next year so that is one that they will play and they might consider adding Gallatin and Bracken COs or some similar type competition.

IMO - if you play a couple of bigger schools it can help you by making a team play harder to beat that school.

:thumb:I would definitely agree that Ludlow is on the right track with a very quality individual in Coach Hornsby as the Head Coach and some very good young assistants who are eager to teach football the right way. Rather refreshing to see this take place in Ludlow.

I agree with this to a point. Dropping Grant and Scott is a definite, but I see no gain in picking up Bracken. Nothing against Bracken, but they haven't proven to be much competition to Ludlow over the years. Gallatin would be a nice addition to the schedule and I'm sure there are others. While Grant may not be considered strong among the bigger schools, they are improving each year and are honestly too much for a school like Ludlow to handle.

:thumb:That's a fair post. I was mostly using Bracken as an example. Gallatin and someone else on a similar level would suit me fine. I agree with your comments regarding Grant. They are just out growing the Panthers.

:thumb:Coach Hornsby is a quality gentleman that from all accounts the kids greatly respect. Regardless of the final record the youngmen at Ludlow are very fortunate to have a man like Coach Hornsby take over a program that was going in the wrong direction.

Congrats Grant Co. they were just definitely the better team.

 

Now Ludlow just rest up during the bye week and get healthy. You got two more tough games coming up, and then the playoffs. You still have a lot to look forward too!

You know Coach Hornsby is a very fine coach, you must have played for him. But I think he was part of the coaching staff last year if I am not mistaken. I think he derserved the job, but I am sure if he was a member of the staff last year it certainly is contradictory to say the program was going in the wrong direction. You seem to have this bias for the past coaches, you must not have received enough playing time you thought you deserved but never earned. But I know Coach, and he will give that program every opportunity to have success, but the kids have to put the work in that is necessary if they ever plan to compete with the big boys in A football. By the way Joe Nuxhall better get in the Hall this year, if not, that is a TRAVESTY!!!

I don't think he is contradicting himself. I mean yeah Coach Hornsby was on the staff last year, however the way he runs the team this year and even the stuff they run. Are way different than they have done things in the past few years. As I have said before though, I am not in agreement though with him about the program going down while under Borchers. Because I played for Borchers and he is a great coach IMO. The thing is though is with Ludlow, you really need to be a people person and know how to communicate and deal with people in the community. Coach Borchers from what I have gathered was not the best at dealing with the community. Which is a big part of things when you coach at Ludlow. Which I am not saying is a bad or a good thing. Every coach has their own way that they do things, and that was his way. Just his way didnt fit best with the community, so it was best for both to part ways. Coach Borchers IMO is going to do a great job at Cooper, and it should be a much better fit. While now Coach Hornsby seems to be a much better person at dealing with the community, and just be open with them. Also since he has taken over things with the youth program has improved and has a better relationship now, which is a big thing for Ludlow.

 

So as I said he really wan't contradicting himself at all. Even though Hornsby was on the staff last year, things are a lot different now at Ludlow with how things are done. Both coaches are great coaches IMO though.
