  1. I am not talking about people who come to watch all of the games. A larger percentage of the fans are people who are loyal to their teams. They are the one who bring in their little ones to watch their high school heroes. They are not going to stay for a whole tournament. These hard working family people are the ones who will suffer, not us basketball junkies.
  2. My question once again is this: How do their family, school, and community afford the prices to watch them play? I am just talking about one game too. What would happen if they won and these families had to go back another night?
  3. "Had a major disagreement with a refereeing crew about the ending of our district game once." I remember that game well. :madman:
  4. My top three for the region would be GRC, Scott High, and Montgomery Co. in that order.
  5. They should in a district with 3 Class A schools.
  6. True................. This is a great opportunity for all of the schools to play in a state tournament atmosphere. It is dream come true for basketball fans and junkies to see so many quality basketball games in a row and for such a low price considering the amount of games. What a great opportunity for 9th and 10th region fans to combine the "best of the best" for that championship night. Now lets come back to the real world. It is about time we come back to the small towns of Kentucky and get out of the "big lights" of Northern Kentucky. $32- That is the admission price of a family of four to get into the basketball games to watch their nephew, cousin, or neighbor from church play in the regional tournament. $6- That is the price for each member of that family to have something to drink. $4- That is the price of each member to have a bag of popcorn or candybar. $50- The amount of gas many will need just to drive back and forth to the game. $94- The total for a family of four to watch their team play one night. Having enough gas to go to work, heat to keep warm during the winter, and food not to go hungry..............PRICELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do not see how in these tough times the Athletic Directors in the 10th region can be that irresponsible and ask this of the working families. These are the people who support their community and whose children have to go watch their high school heroes. Why are they the ones that are punished just so the tournament schools can make a buck and their schools can play in that state tournament atmosphere. State tournament atmosphere should be reserved for the state tournament. Especially at this cost. note (prices are subject to change based on the name of the current hurricane)
  7. Yes. This is true.
  8. I believe that this team is very scrappy and very aggressive. They really go after an opponent. However, they need to learn how to put that kind of pressure on without fouling. They have a lot of foul trouble every game I watch them play.
  9. Deming returns a couple of good seniors and the 2008 10th Region Freshman Champions. Should be a good blend of talent, although quite a few young players.
  10. I have never been a huge fan of Lex Turner or Jerry Ormes (that is only because I am usually on the opposing side), but this makes NO SENSE!! I am just hoping that this is something that was reached mutually for Coach Turner. However, the Ledger article sounds like that is not the case. What has happened to this school?
  11. I apologize for my confusing of decades. It is a problem I have, but I don't know why. I sometimes refer to last year as 1997. 2005 was the redistricting year. Please forgive me junkie. I would never intentionally not "get my facts straight." I beg your mercy oh great one.
  12. History of success is all a matter of how you view it. For example, Bracken County has to hold the record for the most 38th district titles even though they have not been a part of that district since 1995. They also have some regional success, although no championships. They also have Class "A" state tournament history. There is quite a fine tradition there.
  13. To my knowledge the job has not even been posted for people to apply for.
  14. It could not be stated any clearer than that. :fight:
  15. Someone please explain the intentional and technical foul in the last minute.
  16. LBBC beat me to it. Coach Flora "Frosty" Fields has retired from the public school system and went back to coaching freshmen at St. Henry private school. The last time I spoke to her she was not looking for a head job, but you never know when the call comes.
  17. I think West will win in a close one.
  18. Congratulations Devils!!!!!!!!!! Good luck in the finals. I am real impressed with the play of Nathan Mitchell this year. Seems like he just come off the bench with so much intensity. I think he is the best 6th man for his team in the region.
  19. Congratulations to Pendleton County and Deming tonight. They played their HEARTS out. It was one of the more enjoyable girls basketball games I have seen this year. Refereeing left a little to be desired though. I believe it has to be a no call. Referees should not decide games like this. It could have easily been an out of bounds call too. There should have been another overtime to let the players call. I thought the referees nitpicked all night on touch fouls, while refusing to call rough contact under the basket. This was both ways. I love to see physical basketball, but don't call the little stuff and leave out the rough.
  20. WOW!!!!!!!!!! What an accomplishment by this lady. Way to go!!!!!!!!! :ylsuper:
  21. :ylsuper: Forgot about Wilson.
  22. This is ridiculous. It is unfair to make the students and community to have to choose between the boys and the girls in the distict tournament.
  23. Sorry, I could not get my edit button to come up. This is what I meant it to say.
