Maybe it has to do that Bell Co. is the best team and no one in this district is close. Not even good old "Mt. Vernon."

Not real shocked. I said this would happen all along. "MT. VERNON" isn't very good.

I don't believe this is right. Bishop only had 6 yards or something like that passing, and their tailback had 128 yards rushing. Plus you are forgetting the 90 yard plus kick return for a touchdown by Rico Brown. Rockcastle did not have 348 in total yards.

You speak the truth, but Rockcastle is not as good as you think. If anything the one quarter of rain helped Rockcastle. That hurt Southern's speed more than Rockcastle's. Parkey may be a good coach, but when Saylor is gone so is the tradition of hard nosed football. You better hope he stays around forever. I'll be at this game. Bell Co. 42 Rockcastle Co. 14

I am not arguing that fact at all, and really and truley it rained for the whole second quarter and was not that big of a factor for either offense. Good luck to the Eagles and Rockets the rest ot the year.

Yes, Mt. Vernon did win the game, but it wasn't dominating as some of you say. Rockcastle needs better play from their QB. Southern's defense held Bishop to under 30 yards and picked him off once. Nice win for you guys, but this is not a very tough team.

Well if 51st is right, then they have a harder schedule than about 70% percent of the state.

Anderson Co. runs the bone. The bone is very effective if you have at least two good backs who a willing to lay the wood down and block people, the Bone is a mentality not a formation.

Here is my opinion. Madison Southern has played and does play one of the toughest schedules in Central Kentucky. Look it up Anderson, Central, Mt. Vernon, Harrison, Williamsburg and McCreary are ok, then comes Bell, East Jessamine, Knox, and Montgomery. That schedule is tough. Southern runs from nobody, they may not win but they play the best competion around. These kids work hard, their staff puts in tons of hours, and for you guys to dog Madison Southern, you are dogging some of the hardest working people in the buisness. Show a little class and respect like are in the by-laws of this website. I hope Southern wins this game and gets people realizing what really goes on down there!!! You guys are giving off bad Karma, and Karma always comes back to you. I can't wait until Karma finds some of you guys. This post is not intended to be mean or sarcastic, I'm just tired of people acting like Southern and their program do not care. A lot of work still needs to happen but its coming I promise you all. Until then...GO EAGLES!

Bell Co. could care less about Rockcastle, they will beat Rockcastle as bad as they want. I saw Rockcastle play Pulaski and heard about the Wayne co. game. Running in between the tackles will not work against Bell, and your QB puts way to much air under his passes to scare Dudley and Co. As for Madison Southern the Eagles should score some points because the last two teams Southern has faced are way better than the Rockets. Anderson Co. would beat Rockcastle, and Madison Central would have beat you guys by the same margin. Rockcastle is a heavy favorite, but the Eagles will make it and are tougher than you may think. Look at the Eagles schedule its harder than anybody else's schedule in the district.

I don't think anybody from Southern said they would contend for anything?...My kids play there and all that I've said is that their mentality would be better. These coaches are doing a good job I feel, but Southern is limited. In reality Southern has Rico Brown and not a whole lot to compliment him. Bell Co. is clearly the team in this district and won't have anyone in the district challenge them. I have seen two practices since school started and these coaches are pushing these kids harder than past coaches I have seen, but like I said with small numbers, and not much talent makes it tough. From the games I have seen the kids need to pick up themselves.

I'll say this Coach Brumley and his staff have things in the right direction. The coaches have the kids at Southern working hard everyday, and I really don't see many teams being in better shape than they are. I talked to one of their players who said they have never been in this kind of shape. I do know from a firend that they are carry a shovel to practice everyday to dedicate themselves to "HARD WORK" everyday. The numbers are somewhere around 30 which even in the Elkin days is around what they always have. Coach Brumley and staff keep working and it will pay off Friday night. I don't think I ever said loser or give up. I have had the pleasure of knowing Coach Hart for the last ten years, and it just just so happens he has taught me a great deal about the game. I also know Coach Hart wants this game a lot. But like anybody knows coming off a tough year like Ashland had the first game is a big game. The way a team plays early sets the tone for the whole year.

Does in anybody know how Coach Hart's mentality is? I'm sure he's wanting this win so bad he can taste it. If Ashland wins this game they are gonna have a good year, if not this may be a difficult year.:eek:

I don't believe it will be as bad as they want. The Eagles will come out ready to go I hope, I have watched these guys in their two scrimmages, and I just think these kids will compete to the end, Anderson is in for a dogfight.:fight:

Madison Southern wins in a close one 35 to 28:ylsuper:

Madison Southern looked good at times versus Washington Co. last Friday. The offense began to flow on there last two possesions (first team). The defense had two picks but gave up one deep pass for a touchdown. Rico Brown ran very very hard. The offensive line still needs to gell a little more, and the defense needs to keep their assignments a little better. Southern scrimmages Dayton this Friday which should be a good matchup. Coach Brumley's kids are buying into his philosophy. The schedule is very tough, but I think this is a playoff team that should not go overlooked. This year they will be competitive, but they are young with 16 juniors. Next year will be when Southern really turns some heads...GO EAGLES!

Madison Southern should be very much improved from last year. They were a team full of Sophmores, and should have a strong two year run. I'll say this with a lot of confidence, watch out Madison Central, the Eagles are coming.

I'll be in Berea to watch Madison Southern and Anderson County. I think this will be the sleeper game of the state.
