In my opinon, in the last ten years both Trinity and St X have risen there games considerably. The T and X teams of the 90's wouldn't stand a chance agaisnt these current squads. They are physically more impressive and offensively more aggressive along with maintaining a very strong team structure has made them both national powers. I don't think we can make the leap that the rest of the state has come along with them. But these two programs are very very good.

The game is on the radio but I haven't been listening to it fully. The last score I heard was 3-0 Trinity. When I get a time and score I'll post it.

The path of the discussion was what constituted a city, I earlier said I could support it being in Bowling Green.

The teams aren't making the decisions, the school district is.

Over 22 schools in Jefferson Co still don't have power due to the wind storm last Sunday and the school district has elected not to stay closed for the rest of the week. When school has been canceled teams may not practice or have competitions.

As a Louisville person, I don't have any problem with BG making a bid for the playoffs. In my eyes I like the fact that Louisville is getting some competition for the playoffs because I think it might cause them to step up there game a little in the promotion and events along with the game. If BG provides more than Louisville then they should go there, if not they shouldn't, but I don't think it hurts to make Louisville have to try to have it. Currently if you aren't in tuned to the fact of the games you really wouldn't even know they were going on in the city. I've read a few comments from people comparing Bowling Green and Louisville. Just stop, because you can't, because one is a city and the other is a town. This is an aspect Louisville should "work up" to support their case. Being it is Christmas shopping time maybe offer a discount day at the local malls, or set up travel packages for the distant fans encouraging them to stay over a few more days and other things.

Are X and T open? If not have the football teams still been practicing. To me the big issue for JCPS is that they aren't allowed to have practice if the school is closed meaning none of the teams have had any practice.

Manual stadium isn't located on Manual's campus, and I don't know if the stadium has power yet but the bigger issue than power is that Manual hasn't been able to practice all week because schools have been closed.

In a weird way that isn't exactly the case. Until the recent Supreme Court decision on school assignments racial quotas were keeping many African American kids out of Central. Manual and Male were actually more likely to get African American students that Central (who is an African American majority school) couldn't take in order to make the quotas. Now that the ruling has outlawed the practice it will be interesting to see the result.

As I understand it Male's enrollment policy has become stricter in only allowing students from traditional feeder schools into there program. It still means that they can take students from every corner of the county but it means that the students need to attend the right middle school first. Male is one the best schools in Jefferson Co. and many well meaning parents want to insure there kids go it, unfortunately for the football team some of the great talent in the county doesn't want to take that route. While Central's success clearly can have a damper in the success of Male, I don't think that the repercussion of Central's success last season would already come to light. Any kid that choose Central over Male due to football program would only be a freshman this season. I actually think that Manual's success over the last few years has had a bigger effect in getting the better role players (i.e. linemen and defense) that once filled up Male's roster. When Male was really rolling Manual wasn't as strong a football school even though they were academically more distinguished, now that Manual has proven to put a good product on the field many of the kids that used to go to Male to get both a good education and a play for a good football team are now making Manual an option, especially without having to go the traditional program route. With all that said Male is still a very good team and they shouldn't be viewed as out of the race. Central may have beaten them but the game has no bearing on Male and was a much bigger deal for Central than Male in the first place. Also Central is a very strong team, capable of giving a fight to anybody in the state.

Manual has proven to be susceptible to the big play. The secondary isn't as sure as a group as Manual has had in the past with nearly every TD agaisnt them this season coming off of plays more than 25 yards. The flip side of that is that they reasonably good defense most of the game and haven't let many offenses drive the ball on them. If Henderson has speed they can cause this defense problems. Offensively Manual is going to be hard for most teams to stop. They run the ball fairly well and QB Harness is very experienced as has strong WR and TE give most defenses problems. Last year Manual ran away from a young Henderson once they got the offense in gear. I expect a more experienced and improved Henderson to give more of a fight. I do expect Manual to win, one thing about this Manual team is that they have proven themselves capable of winning the close games and believe in themselves (even though they might not be as good) as well as any Manual team I have seen.

I agree with ram95, Seneca has real talent in the QB and receiver positions. They should be in the 6A top 10.

The scoring margins, if major outliers, will disappear. What happens is a team like St X with a score of 150 plays Male with a score of 125 and only beats them by 10 the St X score will go down a little, I don't know if Males score improves or not, but I think it will. Where it really hurts is if St X plays a team that has a really low score like say 50, if they don't score 100 points there current score will reduce significantly.

Not to burst your bubble but that is how they come up with the score. But there is a starting number and I don't know how that is factored in.

This will be a Tell Tale game for new J-Town coach. I think South has been struggling but they probably have more to work with, I expect South to win this one.
