I agree. And I hope he does. Will be good test for both Jay and Fatkin. Difference in game IMO will be Rogers' ability to contain Greenwell. I think Woodford will win a close one, but if Rogers holds Greenwell down that may turn the tide in Clark's favor.

Jay Johnson looked better Saturday night physically than his last outing. Assuming he plays (I know he rested against Harrison as a precaution) I think Woodford County wins. Will be good matchup between Johnson and Fatkin.

Bopper has zero chance, no matter how far GRC goes. He plays hard and certainly is an asset to GRC but shouldn't be in any Mr. Basketball discussion.

I was wondering. By the way I assume you are listening to Clark County announcers. The charm of a home announcer is they always think their te is getting bad calls.

Scott County actually made a layup at the 2nd quarter buzzer to go up 5. The half-court shot was at the end of the 3rd quarter. Gallatin County was very scrappy throughout the game and battled their butts off to stay in the game. I was impressed. The Davis kid is small, but shoots the ball very well and never got rattled by Scott County's pressure. Zach Brown played a nice game as well. Stats I saw showed Gallatin with only 15 turnovers. I noticed their record going into the game was 15-4, with 3 losses to Owen County. I am guessing Owen's size must have been the difference. I have seen Owen County as well and I like Gallatin's guards better, but their "bigs" are small compared to Owen County. I haven't seen a lot of 8th Region teams this year, but I don't think Gallatin County will be an easy out.

WOW. The night I saw Trinity play Scott County, I thought Saxton was their best player and a big reason why Trinity really wasn't challenged. Has his play dropped? As far as Quick, I think he is simply a great athlete, not necessarily a great basketball player. Having said that, there is nobody in the state that wouldn't want him on their team.

Central is what the KHSAA Records say, they won two state championships (1969, 1974) but both of those are listed under Coach Robert Graves. Anyone know what years Kean coached? That's a pretty lofty record for never winning a state championship or even being in a final game.

According to my calculations (used the KHSAA Coaches List which is current through the 2009-2010 season and looked up the other active coaches wins since), that puts the all time coaches wins (up to today) at; William Kean 856 Billy Hicks 800 *Active Dale Mabrey 781 *Active Bobby Keith 767 Ron Bevars 762 *Active Pearl Combs 761 Kean was 856-83....thats impressive!

WOW, GRC suffers one loss after a great run and the officials are taking the blame! GRC, while the favorite in the 10th, is not invincible. There might have been other reasons other than the officials that they lost the game.

No glasses here. I have no stake in this matter. However, as I said earlier, the foul on Hawkins up four was what got the whole mess started. Trip? He ran over Hawkins. Either way, the game was Trinity's to lose with 11 seconds left and they allowed other factors to play a part that shouldn't have had the opportunity to play a part. My prediction is that Trinity runs the table.

First of all, that was a terrible call at the end. Trinity should never have put themselves in that situation in the first place. Secondly, I don't understand why they didn't have everybody in the paint defending the lob anyway. With .1 there was no reason to guard anybody else.

The three fouls called on Trinity were legit. Everyone wants to talk about the last play. IMO the bad foul was when Trinity fouled Hawkins in transition, up 4, with under 10 seconds to go. The ball game should have been over but Trinity chose to press and the kid flat ran over Hawkins, from behind. Also, IMO...all 3 fouls were legit. Kid from Trinity kept Taylor from jumping directly influencing the play. Lastly, how come no one has mentioned Hicks missing two free throws with five seconds left? Just a complete disaster for Trinity in the last 11 seconds.

Couldn't agree more on Hatton and the last shot. He had ball in hands with 10 seconds left and coach took timeout and they couldn't get it back to him. Hindsight is 20/20 but I am sure he wants that timeout back. They were down 1 at the time and Woodford couldn't keep him out of the lane.

Congratulations to Nate! Have seen him play for years and am not a bit surprised about this accomplishment as he has always been a nice player. Has a unique ability to handle the ball like a guard, but also bang with the big boys. And, by the way, he is a better kid than he is basketball player and that's saying something about his character.

More aggressive rebounding in terms of going after the ball on the offensive glass. CovCath didn't do their due diligence of blocking out. But, overall, for a first impression, I liked the way CovCath played. The point guard, #22, (despite the pressure) never got flustered. I thought their big kid, #34, should have gotten some more touches, but Scott County's pressure kept that from happening. The game got away from CovCath in the third quarter. And, I just looked at the stats and between second chance points and points off turnovers, it was 33-8 Scott County. There's your difference in the game.

Actually, they really don't. Center is about 6-2 maybe, then you have Tamron Manning (listed at 6-5, but probably 6-3). Scott County just more athletic and aggressive. They were taller at every position, but just didn't tower over CovCath.

I didn't look at the stats, but was at the game. Scott County dominated the glass, gave CovCath lots of problems with their pressure and were simply the better team. First time I have seen CovCath so I can't comment on them (although they seemed like a team that would give less athletic teams trouble), but Scott County really picking their game as of late. Will be interesting to see Scott County vs. Woodford-Dixie winner tomorrow.

Ken Catron gave the technical. There was a double technical late with Larry Morton and Jordan Green as well. So, the game had the potential to get out of hand, so in reality I think it was a good technical. Not sure both parties didn't deserve one on the really critical call, but I am sure Catron felt (saw) the Hipps kid from Bryan Station start it.

I probably wasn't clear. Looked to me like Station kid interrupted / tried to get in middle of HC huddle before the free throw. Words and a little pushing led to the technical.
