Gallatin county played tough through the 1st half. Halftime score was 39 to 34 with Scott county on top. Gallatin county just ran out of gas in the 2nd half. Who would have thought that Gallatin county would have played the number two team in the state this well? I am very proud of their showing tonight. Watch out Oldham Co. here we come Saturday night!!

39 to 34 at half and thats Scott Co. Also hitting a half court shot at the buzzer so in reality it would of been just a 2 point deficet,but that is basketball for ya. Anything can happen when you have 2 great teams going at it like these 2 did. GC has a ton of heart and they could make some noise before this season is over .

Congrats to the Cats

Despite a game-high 23 points from Gallatin County's Travis Davis, Scott County, ranked second in the state, won at home 75-59. Sophomore guard Trent Gilbert led the winners with 19 points. Isaiah Ivey had 17 points and Tamron Manning 14 for the Cardinals, who outshot Gallatin 50 percent to 34 percent and won the rebounding battle 45-23.

Scott County actually made a layup at the 2nd quarter buzzer to go up 5. The half-court shot was at the end of the 3rd quarter.

 

Gallatin County was very scrappy throughout the game and battled their butts off to stay in the game. I was impressed. The Davis kid is small, but shoots the ball very well and never got rattled by Scott County's pressure. Zach Brown played a nice game as well. Stats I saw showed Gallatin with only 15 turnovers.

 

I noticed their record going into the game was 15-4, with 3 losses to Owen County. I am guessing Owen's size must have been the difference. I have seen Owen County as well and I like Gallatin's guards better, but their "bigs" are small compared to Owen County. I haven't seen a lot of 8th Region teams this year, but I don't think Gallatin County will be an easy out.

I apologize Rainman11 I stand corrected I was thinking it was at the half , but anyways there was a half court shot sometime in that game , my bad!
