While I am not sure about the rest from Louisville (that does surprise me), I am not really surprised not to see AC on the list. His numbers are not that impressive when compared to some of the others. Whether he missed some games or not isn't an issue to me because that happens to players every year. He is an exceptional player, but this year his numbers do not put him in the running. Obviously, a bunch of others agree with that theory.

I am trying trying to undermine any of the accomplsihments of any of these young men, they are all great athletes and clearly above most in the state. I just find it ironic that everyone thinks that many of the names on this list from smaller schools (1-3A) only played schools their size, when in fact they typically played many games above their classes on a regular basis this year, so they played above their competition level if you use the classes as a basis for level of competition. As far as the O-line goes, each of them had a good one, but after that, it was on the player. The same applies to all of these men, not just Simpson.

Even if everyone played in their own class, the level of competition is equivalent (theoretically) because of the class system. That is how it was designed. However, many of these young men played on teams that played against teams from larger classes. So if anything, the smaller schools that played 4A, 5A and 6A teams were playing against a higher level of competition using your theory, whereas 6A teams never played above their level, they only played at it.

Last I checked, Mr Football was about the year, not the carrer. I do not see him as being the best this year, even with his records that account for an entire career.

If anyone has additional information on any of the other players, please provide it so I can become enlightened as I am sure that most of these great young men have done more than what there stats show. However, I still agree a third championship for Fort Campbell is more important that Antonio getting Mr. Football, and I am sure that applies to others on this list as well.

Maybe this is part of the reason we have so many dummies in college and professional sports. While I know there are some very smart student athletes - they are students first and the teachers are teachers first, not coaches. Maybe I just have a different view because I went to schools that did not hire coaches, but hired teachers and we still managed to do pretty good in sports. The two schools on military posts within the state do not hire coaches, they are hired by DODEA (a federal agency) for their ability to teach and both have had succussful programs (even though Fort Knox is not doing great right now). Any way, it should not be an issue for a coach to go to the games, but they should not get paid for it. If they are holding clinics before the first game, then pay them for the trip also (but shouldn't clinics be held earlier in the season so they can actually use the information put out). If they are going to just watch the game, the school should not pay them for going to it. Just because football makes a lot of money for the school does not justify the coach going to watch games he is not particiapating in, the money made goes to the athletic department and teacher pays comes out of a totally different budget.

But the money from athletics is not used for paying subs, at least as far as I am aware. The schools that are already in the finals already have to pay for a bunch of subs for the various coaches (assuming all of the coaches are actually teachers/administrators first and coaches second).

In those years I would concede that NKY had the best area of the state in football, but this year, I think that WKY has that honor.

I dpn't see it, why aren't these guys all playing for the championships in their classes then? Everyone considers WKY weak but they are in four of the title games this year.

That was only part of the reason. The decision makers wanted to show the clarksville fan base some returned support by playing the game in a larger stadium to allow for more fans on both sides and making it easier for both sides to attend the game (no passes going through the post gates). There were a lot of Clarksville fans at the game too, a lot of lettermen jackets from all of the schools in Clarksville and Fort Campbell. The drive for Monroe county should have been about the same, but did not have to go through the hassle of getting on post. Everybody won in this situation I think.

I do get get it, I was just trying to point out that Louisville and NKY might be inconvenienced this year, in the past WKY had this same issue. But trust me, I know they do not care and I do not care either. Last year I had just gotten back from iraq and I made it to the game in the ville, not a problem. In my opinion, if they wanted to see the game, they would go and it wouldn't matter where it was held.

I would agree, but how do they think the rest of the sate felt with all of the games in Louisville. Pretty inconvenienced I would think.

I would have to agree since they are the part of the state with four teams in the finals this year.

I am not sure if I agree with this. I think FC was caught sleeping a little and not really ready for the size in the Murray game and came into this game a little more prepared and was able to make some adjustments at halftime. The interceptions made a big difference IMO. It was a very good game between two great Falcon teams. It seems that the Monroe County folks all made it home safely, I am glad for that. I was very impressed with the crowd of folks that came over to watch their team, by far the largest visiting crowd that FC has seen all year long.

Maybe they need to come out west every now and then.

Not totally different, still an out of class issue, just not based on teh current teams still playing.

The game is being played at APSU to allow for the expected larger crowd and to allow the Clarksville community an easier cahcne to watch the game. Clarksville supports the military and their families of Fort Campbell in a great number of ways, and this is one that Fort Campbell is trying to return the favor (making it asier to watch a great Falcon v. Falcon game. No passses needed to cross into TN and see the game.

If these are the only two that you know about, then FC will have an easier time than you think. FC has a large number who can score anytime also, Turner, Moreno, Crank, and Allen to name a few more than you had mentioned. FC has a bunch of guys that can and have score at anytime. Also, FC scores on Defense as well as anyone too.

I think that seeding is hte best way to go. If a single district is strong enough to have two teams meet in the finals, then so be it. In states that do this, I have seen #1 & #2 from the same district meet in the championship game. Although, I can see seeding being a big problem when just about every team is going into the playoffs.

I have to agree Bill, if our young men had an idea that they were unbeatable, I am sure it disappeared in the close game aganst Murray last night. I am sure that Coach Berner will get them on track this week and they will be prepared for Monroe County at APSU. FC 28 MC 13
