Once again they had a bad first half of football but this time it cost them. Need to regroup and prepare for their first home game against Holmes.

Walton forgot to get off the bus and the first quarter was ugly. After that they never looked back. Nice to see Air Barth get some wings tonight and take off alittle.

They are fairly deep for a 2A team. I think that this is the most talented class as a whole that I have seen at WV. I think they have the potential to throw the ball much more than in any previous seasons.

WV has a chance to do big things this year with a QB that can spin it and with several large receivers. Air Barth looks to take off! Could be a big year if they can avoid injury.

Maybe surprised to know that WV is going to throw the ball a bit more than the past. They have three receivers 6'2" and over. Their QB this year can really spin it too so there maybe a new wrinkle to this traditionally run heavy offense.

They need to make sure they get all the pieces back from last year. I heard they also have a big freshman class coming in and a couple that my help right off.

Yes, but I think that they make up for it with athleticism. A lot more play-makers to mention on defense and offense. I think this year for the first time ever there will be a battle for QB with several different players having a real shot at it.

The Junior class is very strong. They return almost everyone from last years team and have the potential to be the best team since 2012.

Need to put Walton on the list fellas. They return just about everyone and have talented junior, sophomore and freshman classes. They got better and better as the season went on as evidenced against Holy Cross in the playoffs.

Could have not been more proud of the Bearcats effort in this one. This is a young team and the potential for them next year is great! Holding Abernathy and Barnes to under 100 yards apiece is quite the feat for these young Bearcats!

I feel ya but I am not making the point they should or shouldn't be a dark horse. I am making the point it is hard to say Owen is the favorite to win a district when they have been beaten by two teams WV has badly beaten. The three teams that have beaten WV are all top five teams in 2A. They have played nobody close to the top of 2A.

Hmm. This makes no sense at all. Walton Verona destroys Henry County 29-0 and beat Grant by a ton in preseason. How is Henry stronger than WV and Grant also beat Owen????Have to explain this befuddling logic to me.

WV players are young and figuring out the difference from middle school and JV football to varsity. Playing with good fundamentals and knowing your role within the offense/defense.

This was never a competitive game. Grant could not move the ball and scored in the 4th when JV was in. WV offense started slow it picked it up as they went. D was in shut down mode. Still alot to work on for the young Bearcats.

Walton is very young and talented this year so they are going to be learning on the fly. This is a tough first game for them.
