Charlie Banks Letcher County Central 6'2" 205 QB/FS. Over 1000 yards rushing and 2000 yards passing this past season. 4.7 40 yard Dash and 24 ACT. Getting looks from UK, Louisville, Western Kentucky, and Eastern Kentucky.

Either you have a secret crush on Channing Fugate, or you are a Belfry poster trying to get the boys fired up, which I doubt they really need!

Charlie Banks was named top player in Class 5A district 8. He finished the season with over 1000 yards rushing and 20 TD's and 2000 Yards passing with 20 TD's. In his two years as a starting QB, he led the cougars to a 21-5 record and accounted for 80 TD's. Congrats to Charlie on a wonderful career! Jim Black was named top coach and very well deserving of this award!

Charlie Banks played his heart out tonight. Whitley is a good team and they came out victorious. Good luck yo them. For the season Charlie Banks finishes with 2006 yards passing and 20 TD passes. He rushed for almost 1100 yards and scored an additional 20 TD's. For the opast two season --he has thrown for over 4000 yards, rushed for 188+ yards, and scored 79 touchdowns.He led a tem that has only been together for 4 years to a dostrict Championship, two regional finals, and a combined 21-5 record the past two seasons. The kid is a "gamer". he never quits and he will be successful for whoever gets him at the next level.

Cougars came out and took care of business. Charlie Banks had three rushing TD's to raise his total TD count to 39 for the year. Greg Collins had 9 carries for 162 and a score. Cougar defense only allowed Southwestern across the 50 once in the 1st half. Cougars look towards Mercer next week in what should be a good one.

When the plays are executed, they aren't so bad.

We did this in our game tonight EKU and on 4th and 1 the ref called a delay of game on us at North Laurel. We had 3 seconds to spare though.........we thought! It almost cost us the game.

Charlie Banks-Letcher Co central. 9-13 passing for 117. rushed 11 times for 106. Scored four touchdowns on runs of 8, 16, 9, and 27 yds.Also kicked an x-tra point. His 25 points sets a new single game scoring record for the Cougars. Also is the kick-off kicker.

Final. Banks goes 9-13 passing for 117 and has 11 rushes for 116. Had 4 rushing TD's on runs of 27, 16, 9, and 8 yds.Also kicked x-tra point and tallied 25 points(New School Record). Defense held Lewis and co. in check and really defended well in red zone. Score was 19-0 at the half and Clay never got close. Cougars looked much improved and seemed very hungry.

Final from letcher Central. Set a school scoring record and played a nasty defense. 496 total yards offense. 1st team offense only played 1 possession in second half.Young " Cougars" played as well as their teammates. Chase Adams returns a kickoff for 75 yards and Travis Stephens has a 55 yard run from scrimmage. Banks and Logan Johnson combined for 220 yds.passing and 80 yds.rushing and had 5 passes.

Both teams will learn from this game. Ihave no doubt that both will be successful

Prayers from Letcher County! He was a great player. I remember playing against him in the Pike County Bowl in 1997 and he ran wild on us. This is terrible news and I will remember his friends and family in my prayers!

I just talked to someone from Valley and Elisha has not played in any AAU competitions this spring. Ashley Hatfield and Tyler Newsome are the two playing in the AAU circuit this spring. Elisha can play with anyone from what I have seen and he is only a sophomore.

He is 17 and doesn't have limited guard skills I promise you. He is about 5'10 though or 5'9". You sure you have the right guy?

Nobody on SV's team will score 40 points in a game. They are too unselfish and especially Elisha.

I think you got the wrong man. He is no where close to 6-2 or 6-3 and I doubt he has a beard.

This past weekend Arkansas's head coach John Pelphry called Shelby Valley's sophomore point guard, Elisha Justice, to personally invite him to their elite camp in August. Coach Pelphry told Elisha to call him once a week to let him know how things are going. Pelphry also said that they need to sign a point guard out of Elisha's class (2010) and they are seriously looking at him. They will monitor his progress over the next two seasons and want Elisha to keep in contact with them once a week. I believe the attention Elisha is receiving will open the doors for a few more on SV's team. Congrats Elisha and keep up the hardwork.

Elisha Justice, a sophomore point guard at Shelby Valley, was contacted by a Florida assistant coach this week and received an official invitation to Billy Donovan's Elite Camp in early August. He received the official invitation in the mail today. WYMT will announce this tonight at 11:00. Congrats to Elisha and good luck!
