From KNN Al:

Hi gang--it's that time of year for the 2008 KNN High School Scoreboard Show.

We'll again be using your nominees for Player Of The Week, and the official rankings will come from BluegrassPreps.com.

We'll be heard on at least 30 stations around Kentucky, with more on the way. I'll post a full station list as soon as it's finalized.

As always, I'd like for all of you to post the stations in your area that air high school games. We'll use reports from those stations in the show as much as possible. If you know the identity of the announcers that's a bonus.

When nominating a Player Of the Week candidate, please include the players name, school, size, (ht/wt), class, (soph/jr/sr) and position. Then give an accurate listing of the stats he posted that week. Carries, yards, etc.

We'll use all the nominees and give them a mention, and then one will be chosen for POW.

Thanks for all the help in advance, and enjoy the season!

Charlie Banks-Letcher Co central. 9-13 passing for 117. rushed 11 times for 106. Scored four touchdowns on runs of 8, 16, 9, and 27 yds. Also kicked an x-tra point. His 25 points sets a new single game scoring record for the Cougars. Also is the kick-off kicker.

I know....not the KICKER!! But All-State kicker and D-1 recruit Monte Merrick [6'2" 180 lbs. Sr.] from Bell County had a great night! He was 8-8 on kickoff touchbacks out of the endzone...starting Rockcastle on the 20 yd. line all night long. He was 2-2 on Field Goals of 37 and 41 yds. His only punt of the game was 47 yds. and inside the five yard line. Add to that his normal PAT's and the effort earned him the Offensive MVP trophy for the UNITE Bowl at Rockcastle Friday night. AAHHH!! The Kicker!!

Even thoughs his numbers were down last week, I have to go with Ryan(you can call me Mr.) Williams. 187 yards on 27 carries and 4 tds. It feels really weird saying his numbers were down.

In a 55 to 28 victory over Dixie Heights, Highlands sophomore RB TYLER FENNELL had only 10 rushes but accumulated 154 yds. and 4 TD's!!!! WOW!! Blocking for him was Jr. stalwart Hunter Schlosser at Guard! Great job guys!!

Another outstanding performance for the Birds was QB Tony Guidugli. The Senior signal caller was 17/28 amassing 331 yds and 2 TDs. He also chipped in with 2 rushes for 30 yds and another TD. He did all this while only playing little over half the game. Protecting him was SR offensive Guard Peter Bardgett! Outstanding effort guys!!

Miles Simpson of Simon Kenton had 5 touchdowns and around 160 yards on just 7 carries in about a quarter's work.

Michael Campbell-Corbin 6' 230lbs. FB, LB,- 17 Tackles 8 solos'. 1-25yd Field Goal. 4-4 PATs 3-Touchbacks on kickoffs, and 2 punts over 40+yds no Return. Lined up at FullBack every down 4-Quarters. All but two @ LB. Corbin-31 South Laurel 21. Watch in on WazooSports. NICE GAME.
