Over the last couple of season Wheeler has sent me game tapes and in those tapes I have got to watch Letcher County play a few times and it always appears that Banks is having a good game.My question for those in the know just how good is he?

A multi-purpose athlete who has the heart of a champion. Good size 6' 2" 220. Runs with a forward lean that resembles a running back. Throws the ball with accuracy. Would be a starter on any team on defense. Will hit you with everything. Plays mostly on the red zone schemes to limit number of plays.

I haven't seen him play yet this year, but I was extremely impressed with the kid last year. I hope I get the opportunity to watch him play this year because that would mean we'd have won this week against Johnson Central (and LCC would have beat Whitley Co). The kid has size, a great arm and runs very well too. I'm told by good sources that he is a great kid and is very coachable. Highlands benefitted from him having a hamstring problem last year when we beat them in the playoffs.

Plays with more heart than any QB I have seen in a long time. Doesn't have the best physical tools, but does more with what he's got than most. Runs well, throws well, controls the game, and makes plays under pressure. He is the high school equivolant of Dan Lefevour at Central Michigan.

The best way to illustrate how hard this kid plays is last week. In a close game he was the Cougars star on defense getting in on a numerous tackles, and leading them to a score on offense. Banks is also their place kicker. Well halfway through the game Banks suffers a concussion and has to leave the game with his team leading on the road. Mercer comes back and takes the lead with under a minute left. With under 10 seconds to go LCC is in field goal range so Banks comes back into the game, concussion and all, and kicks the game winning field goal.

I really liked this kid last year when HHS played them.. Seems like a gamer.:ylsuper::ylsuper:

He is a kid who you have to scheme your defensive gameplan around, stop him, you win. He is pretty good with his arms and legs.

I was able to see exactly one Highlands game last year, and it was the HHS-LCC playoff game (played right after Thanksgiving)... the Banks kid seemed like quite a player!

He will decide the game tonight at Whitley.

Charlie Banks played his heart out tonight. Whitley is a good team and they came out victorious. Good luck yo them. For the season Charlie Banks finishes with 2006 yards passing and 20 TD passes. He rushed for almost 1100 yards and scored an additional 20 TD's. For the opast two season --he has thrown for over 4000 yards, rushed for 188+ yards, and scored 79 touchdowns. He led a tem that has only been together for 4 years to a dostrict Championship, two regional finals, and a combined 21-5 record the past two seasons. The kid is a "gamer". he never quits and he will be successful for whoever gets him at the next level.

Charlie Banks is good. He truely made the Lectcher County Central team. Any team in the state could use a kid like him. Without Banks Letcher may only win two or three games, he just put that team on his shoulders and carried them to a region championship game.

Congrats on a nice career and good luck in your future challenges.

He's the best quarterback I saw this year.
