NCC lost because they were tired. Jake Ollberding is another good player that will help them beat the teams with size. The games are too physical anymore to play with 6-7, you need to be 8 deep to beat the big schools.

NCC has a chance to win both games if Jake Ollberding was able to play. Both LexCath and Madisonville played 8-9 players and wore NCC down. Still a good effort by the Breds.

Don't forget Mario Escalante. Fast and talented. Hurt the last part of year though.

He certainly has the heart,desire and ability, let's hope he gets the size for D!.

Nice win for NCC, they needed it. Glad to see Jane Giesler scoring 14. They need to get some scoring from her if their going to beat anyone good. Courtney getting 10 rebounds is amazing for a girl her size.

Birds will be fine. I'm sure they were just tired from Friday night's game. I know NCC was, but they played Cooper not Brossart. Brossart always plays hard.

Neil is all of 6'2" and very athletic, the way he plays basketball, you would think he was a linebacker in football not a quarterback. He hustles and dives all over the place. He's fun to watch.

Is Shover still out? If he plays it will be a good game, if not birds win going away.

Hard to believe no player from NCC could even be honerable mention. Wonder if there's ever been a state champion with nobody on an all state team. I guess we'll see Saturday.

I agree it wouldn't have changed the outcome much, but Giesler wouldn't have had to work as hard on defense and rest on offense the way he did. Having Ollberding in the middle keeps Giesler more active on offense where they really need him.

Wow, he will start easily then. That should add to their depth. Not many sophomores have played varsity at NewCath lately though, not even this strong senior class had anyone that played varsity as sophomores.

It doesn't have to do with bad losses or Bob and Dale. It's all about NCC and Highlands students fighting before and after games. The game is very emotional and I for one, I'm glad they don't play each other anymore.

I don't think 5 days are required, but the coach can't hold it against the kid if he chooses to take the 5 days.

NCC's 3 biggest players could not play last night. Starting center Jake Ollberding got hurt in the HC game and 2 are still playing football. It was a pretty good game until half. NCC just doesn't have any size right now. They'll be fine.

I disagree, the best thing Meyer does is drive to the basket. He is quick enough and jumps well. He just needs to put on some weight to help him finish against bigger players.

I agree Joe cox has been a beast on defense the last few games. He looks like he's really having fun also. Chris Kelly had a nice interception, only a sophomore he's going to be an awfully good football player on both sides of the ball. Greg Willett and Mark Kelly are having outstanding years, it's fun to watch.

Once again I think NCC's tough schedule has made them a very good team. 2 of their wins are against teams in the state finals, Beechwood and Simon Kenton. Great job Breds, it was good to see NCC get some pressure on their QB, he is a nice player.
