Hazard had at least 10 unsportsmanlike penalties called that game for taunting too. Even with a completely new team it's still just left a bad taste in my mouth towards Hazard. I have no connection to Jenkins really either just was at that game when some friends invited me along.

I hope Mayfield scores 80 on Hazard. I'll never forget watching Hazard do it to Jenkins and acting like they had just won the super bowl.

I'm all for it. Make the playoffs worth something. American society has lost a lot of their competitive edge and stuff like every team has to be in the playoffs is part of the problem. In life and business no one will make you a winner you have to earn it. Same for football.

That is not encouraging at all. They normally have very high numbers in the middle school program.

I'd love to see Jenkins pull this off one day, but today probably isn't it. I was at a Hazard Jenkins game a few years ago where Hazard really ran up the score and the refs through about 10 flags on Hazard for celebrating their last score as time expire to win like 84-12 or something. Hazard probably had about 4 other celebrating/taunting personal fouls called in the game as well. I lost a lot of respect for Hazard and their coaches in that game, and it has stuck with me. I also could have cared less about that game, I had no interest as a spectator other than I was there to watch football with some people I knew.

I would go to the KHSAA website and check out scores for the past several years probably back to 2004. Not many schools regardless of size have been able to stop Williamsburg's offense. They have lost some games but almost all of them were high scoring.

I hope Lynn Camp can find a way to win, but it would be a huge upset.

All I know about Lawrence County is they are undefeated. Undefeated teams are hard to knock off in the first round. McCreary is certainly better than in years past, but drawing an undefeated team that is hours away in drive time is a tough draw for a first round. I hope McCreary wins this one, but there is just to much unknown about this one for me to have any confidence in picking either team.

I haven't officiated in a couple of years now but NFHS (which is what KHSAA uses for rules) usually advises and educated of upcoming rule changes 2 to 5 years in advance. Now the last time I called there was nothing in the books about a coming change doing away with 5 yard face masks.

LCA will win but it won't be easy and it will be close.

That type of attitude got Va Tech to the title game several years back, it was awesome watching them carry their lunch pale out on to the field every game (literally). That is definitely the attitude that builds winners over the long haul though!

Yes, but their fans are very distraught, dating back to last season's state championship they've lost 2 of their past 6 games. (They lost earlier this season to a Memphis school)

This is a little off topic but it relates to JC. I was driving home tonight and turned on the radio to listen to Horn Lake, MS who beat Johnson Central. When they played people wondered how good Horn Lake was. Well tonight Horn Lake lost to their traditional district favorite South Panola 53-14. South Panola also played second and third string the entire fourth quarter.

My the opposite directions these two programs have went in the past several years.

McCreary is wining the games they are suppose, the competition still hasn't been enough for me to make any calls in how they will do in District. It will be hard for them to get in the top 2 in their district but they do have an outside shot at 3rd and not finishing 4th would be a major failure for this team at this point.

I didn't count but looking at the sideline it looked to be about 25 to 30 but I'm sure someone on here watches them more and knows the exact number.

Herron says it best "Bust some kids didn't play well." Herron feels like his team should of one and I agree with him. Something got in these kids heads in the second half and they just couldn't finish. Fatigue may have played in it and saying they quit may have been too harsh of a word, but bottom line Williamsburg is the better team and after leading 26-6 they should have won this game.

I would tend to have thought that if I hadn't watched the game but Wburg had a huge fumble after a gain of about 20 yards up 2 tds and after that they just quit.

Williamsburg laid down in this one, it was pathetic. I give South all the credit for taking advantage but Williamsburg is the more talented team this year, they just laid down when they got up 20 points.

Horn Lake is an alright team from MS, I've lived in the MS Memphis area for 3 years now and Horn Lake is average team for the area. Olive Branch, South Panola, South Haven, and Tupelo are the big dogs in the area.
