Looks like Breathitt County has called it a season already. Holcomb has his work cut out for him getting this teams confidence back.

Amazing the drop Breathitt has endured the season. Of course the losses are against good teams, but they seem to be struggling on offense and defense.

 

By the way, looks like Johnson Central might be beginning to right the ship. Two weeks to prepare for an excellent Ashland team (the Tomcats have two weeks, as well) should make for a great one in Johnsonville on October 9.

I asked this last week, but didn't see an answer...so forgive me for repeating it if it was answered...but what exactly did Breathitt lose from last year's state title game team??? I am shocked at their results this year.

Just like JC lost the offensive line coach, Tony Burchett.

 

Great assistants make a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge difference.

Im pretty sure they lost some key linemen too. It doesnt matter who you have running the ball if he is being tackled behind the line. Coach Chapman was a key part of the team though. Pretty sure Holcomb has never won a title without him. I think Breathitt lost some other assistant coaches as well.

Wow. This has turned out to be a disappointing senior year for him. I really thought he would be the player of the year in Kentucky this year. Maybe it's karma for him committing to Tennessee. J/K

 

In all seriousness, I hope he's OK and can have a decent finish to the year.

Last week I stated that the rumor around Breathitt Co. was that Coach Holcomb was replacing Haddix at QB with the freshman Trent. Trent was the starting QB tonight. :thumb:

This is a little off topic but it relates to JC. I was driving home tonight and turned on the radio to listen to Horn Lake, MS who beat Johnson Central. When they played people wondered how good Horn Lake was. Well tonight Horn Lake lost to their traditional district favorite South Panola 53-14. South Panola also played second and third string the entire fourth quarter.

I believe I read on another sat that Fugate returned to the sidelines in the 2nd half, however it was in street clothes, hope he recovers quickly. Breathitt lost a heck of a defensive coach in Chapman, and one heck of a line.

Man what was all that about using the n word. That's uncalled for. People need to grow up and realize it has nothing to do with color. Horrible. That should be taken off of here. Should not have been posted at all. Anyways good job Central way to bounce back and get a good win over a overrated team. Good luck to both.
