Very good game with two very good football teams. I'd say if these two teams played 10 times, they would split evenly. Am I the only one who saw the adjustments though? Looked to me like Cooper went to a man defense and went more to a spread offense.. Tough to come back from down 21. Both of these teams have a lot of fight in them and I would not at all be surprised to see them meet again in the playoffs!

This can end up being an interesting game. Campbell is off a bye week and SK continues to win. I'll take Campbell in the upset 28-21. Good luck to both Durham and Kuntz.

But they play in District 5. Which includes 3 NKY teams. They are deserving of some votes if you ask me. They beat a Conner team which everyone thought would win the State Championship. They might have been a write in vote but it looks as if they received 6 votes.

Seeing as though I am new to the site would you say kids being interested in the program has to do with the Coach caring about all aspects of the program or kids these days just don't want to spend a season knowing they won't play. Be easy on me, I'm new here.

While I don't doubt at all CCH would beat SK... Playing Beechwood @ Beechwood is almost like a home game. They are about 3 minutes down the road.

Blake would do a great job I'm sure if offered. With his connections to Conner and Coach Stamm it could really heat up the Cooper/Conner rivalry.

From what I heard there were a couple reasons. 1. Money. and it was a significant amount due to him being AD at Cooper. 2. The Cooper program has been his since the school was built and it finally turned the corner after last season so he is personally invested in the program. and this is JMO but I also think he was smart to stay at Cooper. The kids like him and the rest of the staff, and they could be on the verge of something special there. This is a team that is growing and the recent success is going to do nothing but help out.

Surprised no one has mentioned Cooper as one of the top defensive teams. Last year gave up 16.9 ppg which was 4th best in 5A for the state as well as allowing 1200 yards rushing for the year which was 4th best in 5A. They lost 3 defensive starters in Blau, Williams, and Branch but return almost everyone else including Centers who was a beast on the d-line last year. I expect another good year for the Cooper defense.

Oh I completely agree with what you said and I was not putting down anything Clyde said. I was simply stating that in todays world, kids don't want to work as hard and it's just the way that things are now. Kids are fine playing madden and staying inside rather than actually playing football. I definitely agree with what I bolded. What I am trying to say though is that when you come in everyday and do let's say 15 gassers and you have done that everyday for 2 months, the kids know what is expected, yet you can still have parents complain about it being too tough. Football is a tough, physcial sport and it takes tough, physical kids to play the sport. It's like I said earlier, if it were easy you'd have 200 kids on a team. Now I know there are a lot of parents out there who never say a word so I don't want to make it look like I am saying this about every parent. It's just at every school there are parents who think that their child is entitled to everything without doing anything and that simply is not the case. Really not disagreeing with anyone, just pointing out some things that I think for the most part anyone who follows sports know.

I realize you're not a parent and you were just asking a question. I just went on a little venting session. You are right though, times have defintely changed. It doesn't always mean for the better though.

Here lies a problem today. When I played football, I was always told that out of all the sports it was the one that related to real life the most. In real life, people are mean, people have to learn to fend for themselves. Life is going to knock you down every single day and it is up to you to make a choice. You can either stay on the ground and feel sorry for yourself or you can pick yourself up, work harder, and beat the guy across from you. Unfortunatley living in the Mr. Rogers era that we do, a lot of children are raised to think that everything should be given to them. Kids aren't allowed to fail in school anymore because it can hurt self-esteem. Kids can't get disciplined by teachers if they are disrupting class because parents will go to the board and complain. I have read a couple of Lou Holtz books and the one quote he said that really stuck out to me was somewhere along the times people have learned to feel entitled to everything without working for it. So true of life today. Kids show up and expect to get playing time but don't put the work in at practice. Crazy! Then you have parents complain because they see Jimmy isn't playing but they don't see that he isn't working hard, or taking time to understand his position better. In the real world if your boss asks you to put together a project and you don't do you really think you're still going to have a job? When these kids get to college and the professor wants a 5 page paper and the student decides to not finish or turn in the paper is the professor going to give an extension because mommy and daddy asked for it? No. They don't care. I know I may have rambled a little or a lot and I'm not saying that what you are saying isn't right. What I am saying though is what kind of example would a coach be setting if they weren't asking the athletes to give their best effort all the time? Kids are going to quit. That's part of sports. If it were easy there would be 200 people on the team. Hard work and dedication makes you a stronger individual. When parents ask to have coaches lighten it up, it kills me. Kids are not being prepared for real life anymore and it's a shame. It's also the reason our country is declining compared to other countries in the world. They work harder so they get more perks.

See every football team at every school since the start of time. Parents are always unhappy.
