Is Highlands sideline still on the opposite side of the stands? Was the dad still in the stands and the lineman on the sideline? It must have been pretty quiet for everyone to hear each other.

Not sure why the KHSAA website is not updated with the wins though. The other thing this appeal did was change how they can rule ineligible. The courts gave an injunction and said Mitchell could play and the KHSAA overruled them and said he was ineligible so Highlands forfeited the wins. Highlands appealed long after Mitchell left and won. I believe KHSAA rule now says a team can play a player if the court issues an injunction.

I copied this from my post in longest streaks which Highlands currently holds for seasons without a losing record. All all forfeits were reinstated as wins. All Highlands wins were restored in 2010 and the KHSAA paid Highlands $1500 for their troubles. KHSAA football realignment approved; Dunbar stays in city district | Lexington Herald-Leader Highlands' wins restored In other action taken by the board, under Tackett's recommendation, 12 victories from the 2004 season were restored to Highlands and the KHSAA will repay a $1,500 administrative fee charged to the Bluebirds. The victories had been taken away in 2005 for using Covington Catholic transfer Mike Mitchell, whose eligibility was in question. The restored victories will not affect the records of any of Highlands' opponents that season. The move was made after Highlands officials appealed and presented additional information to the KHSAA

I've said it before, but this gets brought up to Marty Moore, he may have a super bowl ring, but no state ring.

I am probably in the minority, but running up the score in high school and above doesn't bother me at all except when running trick plays, onside kicks etc. if the 2's and 3's are running offense, fair game. But even running trick plays really wouldn't bother me, I would just think that's kind of stupid.

Trying to think of a player Campbell County lost to Highlands. Derek Smith. Any one else? I would think Highlands loses more player that live in Ft Thomas to NewCath more than they receive from anywhere else.

Who said Campbell County was great. They have won 2 games, one on a last second FG and one on a last second TD.

I think we are just taking same threads from last year and repeating them this year. It looks exactly like the same narrative. Highlands is struggling with the big boys this year and will look good playing in their district. It will come down to Highlands and Cov Cath and one or the other will probably go to semi finals where they get beat. I think I have seen this story before.
