Agreed. I would expect he will have some nice choices to make down the stretch. I have said this before, Campbell plays for Holy Cross and not for himself.

My point is Sawyer averages 7.1 points and 4.6 rebs a game and by my stats had 20 and 13 and 4 steals, if that isn't having a career game, I don't know what is. I was complimenting the young man, even TOG knows that.

 

I agree Sawyer had the game of his life. It's amazing what confidence can do for your game. He hit several early shots, and you could see his confidence build. He played great d and hit Crucial shots the entire game.

 

I feel for the young man from HC, as great a game and career he had, my guess is all he can think about is going 1 for 5 at the free throw line late in the game. Hopefully the bad memories fade and he remembers the good times.

Jake Burger had a senior year that will go a long way in helping him get over this particular loss. He hit a ton of big shots this season and played himself into POY contention. Helping your team win the All A State is a huge accomplishment.

 

The only negative about Jake's career is that he has never had the opportunity to play in a regional game. Again just goes to show the quality of that district year in and year out.

Jake really stepped up this year! He should be very proud of all that he did. Sad for Holy Cross but they did bring home some hardware this year. Good luck to the Blue Colonels.

Barring a huge upset in the 33rd, 34th and 36th, the runner ups in those districts will be teams who aren't nearly as talented as HC (obviously) but will be make it to next week's regional tournament. Dixie, NCC and Boone Co with a much easier road out of districts. It just goes to show you just how important those seed games are and have been in the 35th the last several years to get that #1 seed. Good Luck to all the teams remaining.

Last year or the year before NCC got them in the ALL A regional and HC got them back in the regular season rematch.

 

Most if not all of his rematches are against All A teams, CCH or Holmes. This is the first time they were favored to win a rematch and if they were favored it was very small. Most years CCH and Holmes have clearly had better teams than them.

 

By the way how did they do in that Bowling Green rematch earlier this year in Lloyd tournament? I know they aren't local but they're a pretty good club.

Good season for Holy Cross, but no question a disappointing ending. The Indian faithful knew the Colonels would prove to be a tough foe, but also felt as they would win the game. I agree with a previous statement that the key for the Indians going forward are the district games. Much better chance of advancing from the 35th as a #1 seed, as opposed to a 2 or 3 seed.

Who has beaten HC in rematches other than Holmes or Cov Cath since Goetz took over? I know they weren't expected to beat Holmes and Cov Cath every year with the difference in talent most years since he's been there.

My favorite stat is 10 Turnovers against the constant Holy Cross pressure and 1 total turnover in the 3 overtimes. Great great team win. They play like this they can beat anyone.
