Seems like every time we lose to CovCath, there is that one player that plays absolutely the best game of his career and tonight it was Sawyer Pauly. He and Fredrick did have nice games. I told several people that in order for CovCath to get the 'W', they would have to shoot really well and limit turnovers and for the most part they did both. Not sure what the CovCath stat crew had, but I had the Colonels with 10 turnovers and HC with 12 which is pretty amazing for both teams considering they played a 44 minute game and a couple of guys on either side played 40+.

 

This game was a flat out WAR and the largest lead for either side until the 3rd OT was 7 points, CovCath 32-25 with 2:25 left in the 2nd Qtr. The largest lead in the 2nd Half and the 1st 2 overtimes was 4. There were 17 ties and 10 lead changes in the game. Amazing!!

 

Everybody who paid to get in got their money's worth. As disappointed as I am it is not for me, it is for our Seniors who never got the opportunity to play in the 9th Region Tournament. I say this every year, but it is true, I am really proud of this group of young men. They are all good students and good citizens and will make something of themselves some day soon. Good luck to Travis, Jake, Jared, Kyle F and Kyle S. I will miss you all.

Only saw the last 2 OT's but FT's were the difference in the little bit I saw. I think HC missed 6 straight. Can't do that in tight game. All coaches can do is put them in the position to win, players have to execute. Tough way to lose, but good season for HC. CCH was clutch down the stretch.

How can you leave out Senior Clint Massie who had a career night in what could have been his last game.

Campbell is 6-8, Tobler is listed at 6-5....I guess 3 inches equals a foot nowadays. lol... Campbell holds Tobler to 6 pts on the defensive end as well.

 

Wow, take it easy. Voicing my opinion. I think he is soft. Feel free to throw more stats at me. Seriously it is OK for someone to have a different opinion.

Classy post my friend and from the CovCath stats I read CovCath had 10 and HC had 15.....wasn't there due to sickness.....and was told our guys had a hard time seeing the floor from where they were sitting, so you could be right....

 

I owe you a Mary Burger too, so come see me at a CovCath home game and I will gladly pay up!

When your coach plays defense to stop the point guard using two people it leaves someone open. Mr Pauly defender was playing off him a bit to help out also. Oh well.

Congrats to CCH! It was hard to watch Holy Cross not able to advance, when they were probably the better of the two.

 

Travis Thompson is class act! He has a wicked 3 and kept HC in it!

 

Pauley awesome game! Clint and Fredrick played well! Heppler contributed. Cleves impressed me as well. Always cheering for his team and gets in there and does his job. He was not impressive in the first half and turned it on when it counted playing defense against Campbell in the end.

Cov Cath coaching staff completely out coached Holy Cross staff. Holy Cross wont get a chance for a few years to beat CCH. Colonels just have their number. I heard CovCath has beaten HC 11 out of the last 13 games!!!!! Is this true?

Holy Cross's 3 wins vs. CCH (since '97): Jan 4, 2000 (HC won 56 - 54); February 4, 2011 (HC won 59-54); and February 3, 2012 (HC 74 - 68).

 

Each time that Holy Cross has beaten Cov Cath it has been during the regular season. Each time Cov Cath has beaten Holy Cross later that season in districts.

Congrats to CCH! It was hard to watch Holy Cross not able to advance, when they were probably the better of the two.
