MNCM Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 I went through two phases. First after I joined I was on all the time, but mostly read other people posts with little comments. The after returning from overseas, I rejoined and have been glues to BGP more than any other site. Especially during Football & Basketball season.
mcpapa Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 (edited) The following is a service provided to the BGP membership. 1. We admitted that we were powerless over BGP - that our lives had become unmanageable. 2. Came to believe that a Guru greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity. 3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of The Moderators as we understood them. 4. Made a searching (using the Advanced Search feature, Search Single Content Type tab) and fearless moral inventory of ourselves. 5. Admitted to Jim Schue, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs. 6. We were entirely ready to have Guru remove all these defects of character. Even rooting for Clark County. 7. Humbly asked Him to remove our Gametimecomings. 8. Made a list of all BGP Rules we had violated, and became willing to make amends to them all. 9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or mcpapa. 10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it. Especially when suspended. 11. Sought through prayer, meditation and private messaging to improve our conscious contact with Guru, as we understood him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out. 12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry these messages to all BGPaholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs. This last in case Bill Clinton or Newt Gingrich is currently lurking in P&R. Edited February 10, 2012 by mcpapa fat fingers
dto1177 Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 This is basically the only site I can tolerate in talking UK and college basketball because the majority of posters are knowledgable and not obscene and outlandish. I can't stand going on another UK forum because everyone acts like the world revolves around UK and they can do no wrong, and use profane language. That's just annoying. As a UK fan, I hate that part of the fanbase. BGP, I thank you for having a college basketball discussion board that is classy!
tcjkbt Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Reading the late LSURock's posts. I believe he spent some time in the sin bin, too.
malachicrunch Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 The first day I saw a post saying the Reds should keep Adam Dunn, no matter what.
PepRock01 Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 It has been long enough now that I am not sure anymore. I do remember some old names that are long gone. Some Trinity folks, many Male folks, a handful of X posters and there used to be a much larger contingent of the Boyle county folks as well. I used to be much more active than I am these days.

4pointplay Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 :notworthy:Addicted from the time I saw a posting about the power and majesty of a Holmes player dunking the basketball:notworthy:

Godot Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 I'm not sure, but it wasn't very long. This November will be 10 years for me.
Birdsfan Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 I think it took me a few months. At first, I didn't really understand what it was about or the culture that was developing here. But I quickly began to make friends and get involved in the various discussions (battles). Once I got involved and comfortable, there was no shaking this fish off the hook.
Birdsfan Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 This coming August will mark my 11th year on BGP.Same here! We must've signed on in the same month. Hard to believe it's been so long.
