EZ Living
Well the wait is over for Prince Fielder and Scott Boras. Will this turn out to be a good or bad deal for the Tigers? http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/prince-fielder-detroit-tigers-nine-year-deal-214-million-mlb-free-agency-hot-stove-012412

GrizzlyAdams
As a Tigers fan, the offense firepower for next year will be amazing. Can't wait for next year.
BaseballIsLife
I'm really starting to wonder if some of these salaries will ever level out. The way things are going right, it appears salaries for the top guys will continue to go higher and higher. Will there be any chance of it ever stopping and leveling out? RomanEmpire
Terrible business decision by the Tiger organization. No way you pay this guy, this much, to be an everyday DH.

sportsfan41
I just think this is a bit much. Not trying to be mean or rude but the guy is over weight, typically speaking over weight people are going to be more susseptible to injury especially as they age. From an investment perspective I just don't think it's a good investment, I'm almost looking at it in the same light as what I would expect an insurance company to. Isn't Prince Fielder on of the most dependable guys in the National League? I thought he was one of those guys that has never had a significant injury and rarely misses starts. I thought he was one of those guys that has never had a significant injury and rarely misses starts. I'm not viewing it on his past but rather the fact that 9 years is a long time, especially for someone that's over weight. If he hurts one of his legs in the next two years then recovery IMO will be harder than for someone that's not over weight. I just think I would've had a easier time accepting a 5 year contract rather than a 9 year contract. With that said I thought Pujols contract was too long as well.
