They wanted him around for the all star break and once it is over, they feel the trade talks will heat up. I agree that he has to be traded or the Magic will be set back years. I only see the Nets or Lakers for Howard. Thoughts?
February 24, 201214 yr He's going to be unfairly blamed when they lose. Knew this would happen. Not blaming Melo for the loss in Miama. The Goat of the Game award goes to Lin. He was in over his head and looked to be much relieved when he was pulled. It wasn't Lebron so much as Chalmers that took Lin out of his game. Lin's is a great story but he is not yet a great player. That said, prior to Lin I can't remember the last time I set the DVR to record a pro game.

They know they will lose Williams if they cannot get Howard and taking the chance on waiting on Free Agency is just too big of a risk. I see them sending Lopez (a player the Magic covet as good as anyone in the Howard discussions) and whatever else it takes to get a deal done.
February 24, 201214 yr Howard to the Lakers no longer makes sense to me unless they get rid of Gasol and Bynum. I am firmly in the keep Bynum camp. It's clearly evident that they need a point guard more than anything else.

I don't see how the Nets can put a package together better than something the Lakers would offer. I wouldn't be shocked to see the Nets trade Williams if they don't get Howard. Lopez isn't better than Gasol or Bynum.

I'd trade Gasol or Bynum for D-Will. Not saying the Nets would do that but I would try something like that.

February 25, 201214 yr I don't think the Magic will trade Howard. I am now in this camp as well. Unless they can get Blake Griffin from the Clippers or Bynum from the Lakers, they will only get back pieces that will strap them financially into the forseeable future. It is better to let him walk and free up the cap space, get a high pick in the 2013 draft (Shabazz, Noel, Cody Zeller, Steven Adams or Isaiah Austin in the top 3 I imagine will be available) and build around that pick.
