Anybody else excited for this Knicks-Heat game? As a Knicks fan, I am very interested in how we play tonight. Lin will look to show he is the real deal against LeBron while LeBron will look to shut down Lin and show he is average. Great TV.

I do not have many NBA games that I schedule around. This is an exception.

Through 1 and Lin already has 3 TOs. Heat lead by 4.

Thanks to the rest of the Lins. Melo's last 5 points were huge.

Lin is playing awful- Miami will make a lot of guys look bad with this defensive pressure. A star would rise to the occasion in the second half- I hope Lin has some star in him!

I have been saying that for weeks now. I don't even think they will get challenged until the Finals when they play OKC.

I agree. Could be a fun Finals but Boshanda is playing like a Bosh and I think the Heat will win fairly easily. They look stupid good.

A few thoughts from the Heat Knick game:

 

1. Jeremy Lin is going to be a great player, but he still has a ways to go. Miami focused their defensive efforts on stopping him and they did that too easily for the Knicks to consider themselves a contender in the East right now.

 

2. The Heat remind me of Tiger Woods in his prime from this stand point- they play scamble basketball better than everyone else. Tiger would hit errant tee shots and his incredible skill allowed him to make up for it. The Heat make poor offensive decisions and make up for it with incredible hustle from their best athletes (James, Wade and Bosh) and that mentality carries into others (Anthony, Cole, Chalmers). They get more put backs and offensive rebounds and looseballs than any other team in the league. They win 50/50 plays and make bad shot attempts turn into points with their hustle.

 

3. The only team in the country that understand dribble drive principles better than UK is Miami. They did not run a play tonight- they drove the ball and finished at the rim or drove and kicked to open jump shooters all night. Combine that with their transition game and they looked unbeatable tonight, especially in the second half.

 

4. The Heat team and the current UK team remind me a lot of each other with their length, athleticism, defensive tenacity and offensive personality. I have a hard time seeing anyone beat the Heat in a 7 game series right now.

He might be the worst individual defender in the league- on offense, they have to figure out a way for he and Chandler to coexist. They are both pick and roll post players that do not threaten you with their outside shooting ability. They do the same things on offense. We are better off subbing Chandler and putting in Novak at 4 for offensive purposes. Run the pick and roll with Amare at the 5, Lin initiating and Carmelo, Novak and either Fields, Smith or Shumpert waiting to hit open threes or 20 footers when helpers try to clog the lane (against the Heat, anyway).

Kobe is officially warn out. He needs to All-Star break and he needs to play less minutes. He and the Lakers stink. The Thunder would probably sweep them in the WCF if they make it that far.
