yeah, after reading it again I think I can see what she was trying to say. Her mindset is completely on next year while we are on this year and she added this year's rankings to her 2012 mindset. I see it now. Didn't at first.

I weighed in early but wised up and went to the sidelines. It's time for everyone to move to state prediction threads and move on. When we won state in 1992 I have no clue what our state or national rank was. I honestly didn't care. That didn't make getting that ring any less sweet. Good luck BG next week.

Last night BG played lights out and now the big margin of victory has everyone thinking BG is the obvious #2 team in the state.

 

It's not the blowout win last night that states a case for a legit #2. It's the fact that BG has beaten 3 teams that appear to be better than some of Highlands' best wins. The convincing wins by BG over Warren Central & JH as well as the win at St X are why some folks feel they deserve a #2 spot. We could argue this all day. The Highlands fans feel they are better and that is just fine with me. What means a whole lot more to me is next Saturday. I certainly won't lose any sleep if the pollsters put HHS ahead of us as long as we get a ring! It's all about perspective. I just get so tired of the lack of respect from up north. But I know, I know, we have to beat you to ever earn that.

On paper, BG-HHS would have been interesting, but we'll never know. Lets all go get our titles next week and hope T gets a national title so the other elite programs in Kentucky get some notice down the road. As for the respect from No. Ky., HHS fans probably won't admit it but in 3 of the last 4 years we were breathing a heck of a lot easier when BG was knocked out of the playoffs.

Plain and simple, the Western Kentucky teams have not proven themselves to be on par with those in the east. Until they can do that, any discussion of Bowling Green (or any other team from the west), being the top dog in the state is a moot point. Just beating up on each other doesn't prove anything.

Which is why Bowling Green went out and beat both St. X and LexCath on the road in addition to their impressive wins over some of the western side.

 

The nature of Highlands is such that they are probably going to be better than any team from almost anywhere in the state 9 times out of ten (or even more). The stars will not often align that one of the other teams that are capable of knocking them off will meet them. This would have been one of those years where a team like Bowling Green would have had a decent shot.

 

The LexCath results in comparison paint a different story than what those of you working off of past results are looking at. After all, LexCath is one of those teams from the east that dusted Bowling Green back in 2005. Your answer to that would probably be that that LexCath team was much better than this one. Well this Bowling Green team is much better than any of the ones that has made your opinion of them so low.
