Just feel that it may answer the question for next year. Could be that Bowling Green and Highlands will be state champs this year but if they play each other next year it may solve the question. Just like to see what the # 30 team in the nation can do with the # 82 team in the nation.

 

How does that solve the question for 2011? It would be the 2012 teams playing each other and solving the question for 2012, not this season.

Go out and win 5A and be proud. Don't worry about #2. BG is a great team for sure. HHS is too. Trust me, the people of Ft Thomas and the surrounding areas would have loved to play 5A this year. But you know what, BG has a good argument for being "2nd Best". Keep shooting for the top!!!

I think Bowling Green certainly has a strong argument. My bias is (obviously) that Trinity is #1. But the battle for #2 certainly seems very tough. In ranking them at the end of the season, the pollster can only go with the finished season, not rank based upon any hypotheticals. It'll be interesting to see what those final rankings are.

Come on Hatz, you know the rules...Highlands beat Boyle in 2011 so that means Highlands would have beaten Boyle in 2010 AND 2009. Just like if BG 'man ups' and plays Highlands in 2012 and Highlands wins then that means Highlands would have beaten BG in 2011. I thought you knew that. You do know if Highlands beats Boyle in 2012 then Boyle's win over Highlands in 2003 is stricken away from the record? You are aware of that aren't you?

This thread is comical. Who's #2 in the state? #2, not #1. Really does it matter?

 

Highlands had a low 4A/high 3A enrollment level and owned 5A. Never lost to a 5A team.

 

This year BG has one of their best teams ever. A matchup between the Purples and the Birds would be great. Sounds like a great game on paper. At the end of the day being a state champion probably matters more to both teams than being #2 in the state.

 

Trinity, BG, Highlands, Central, Holy Cross and Mayfield will all win titles next week.

 

BG can have the number 2 spot, good for them. They had a great year.

Nobody is bragging. Just a hypothetical question that was posed that happens this time of the year. It would be a great game to see. Whoever would win is a matter of opinion. Period.
