How does that solve the question for 2011? It would be the 2012 teams playing each other and solving the question for 2012, not this season.

Hey, I for one, love your passion for the team(s) you support. It's the sort of thing that makes high school football so fun!

Why can't we all just be happy that Kentucky has 3 teams in the top 82 in the country. That said, the polls are mostly for bragging rights and don;t win or lose games. Does even the most loyal Highlands fan really think Highlands was the third best team in the country in 2009? They beat ranked St. X on national t.v. and I would assume most of the pollsters for the USA Today poll saw the game and HHS got exposure. Not saying they couldn't be competitive, just not #3 in the country.

On the other had I think the 2011 team is as good or better than the 2009 team but there wasn't any national exposure. The coputer polls rely heavily on strenght of schedule and there isn't anything HHS can do about the three weak sisters in the district. Who would of thought Dixie would limp home at 3w-8L or Ryle would lose Elliott and many more to finish at 7-5? Throw in Elder at 2-8 (with a killer schedule) and Mason County at 2W-8L after losing Harris and you end up with a really nice team that no one knowa about.

I guess HHS will have to settle for 21 and 73W-2L record for the last five years.

Congrats to Bowling Green on their ranking but now I'll stir the pot a bit and ask the Western half of the state how it felt to have their 5A teams get pushed around the last 4 years by a 3A team playing up in classification or that this year would be any different.

Highlands would beat BG like the " Red Headed Step Brother " that they are...Highlands owns the western side of the state..Until someone from the western side beats the Birds SHUT IT UP!!!

 

You alone makes it very hard to pull for Highlands but thank goodness that 99% of Highlands fans are not like you. I have a friend who sat in Highlands section during the state game last year and he loved how all the fans acted. Said they were knowledgeable about the game and had class. You must have not been sitting there.

@dmh115----no one from the western side of the state cared about the enrollment of Highlands. It's not like when BG, or even Boyle for that matter, said 'well, it was just a small school so we should have beaten them.' when they beat them. The only difference the enrollment makes is the size of the student section.

Question: does anyone know if Highlands will be scrimmaging Trinity next year? With all this talk about rankings, I need to add that according to Dallas Jackson of Rivals High Highlands fell completely off his radar screen this year after Trinity beat them handily in the scrimmage. So, if HHS is interested in garnering national attention next year the may want to think twice about playing against Trinity, be it in a scrimmage or a regular season game, unless they plan on beating the Rocks.

I didn't read it that way. Perhaps I'm wrong, but knowing Henry like I do, I doubt she meant to say that.
