I feel the same. IMO, always run first and if it's not working start mixing it up with the pass. If the run is working and you are killing the clock and have the lead, then stick with it. It's nice to know though, for once, Boone has someone who can throw when needed. Congrats to Boone and good luck next week.

Well, they're playing another game. Unlike some other schools that had the opportunity. Perhaps scrutiny should fall on those that didn't advanxce...

Congratulations to the Rebels; way to represent NKY. On another note, if anyone told me that a team from the NKY 6A district would be playing in a semi-final game back earlier, I would have thought they were crazy.

 

I actually thought about this just before I read this post....But, did you know that only once since 2004 has a NKY 4A/6A school not been represented in the State Semis. That year my friend was 2005, when the future state champ Trinity beat BC. NKY 6A football was bad this year but is always better than Lexington and Western Kentucky. And many years better than most Louisville schools, not named T or X. Congrats to Boone County for having an opportunity to practice on Thanksgiving.

Why are we giving props to an offense that didn't do squat all night? You can't do anything offensively yet you refuse to let your really good QB throw? Come on.

 

3 things can happen when you throw the football and two of them are bad....which happens to be the two things to typically happen to BC. Look, their quarterback has a fantastic arm but when they are winning games, it's hard to question motive and play calling. If they had lost and gone 0-3 passing, then your bark is warranted.

They better mix it up next week or Scott Co. will beat them bad...

Nice to see Boone using players the way they should be used. That's what wins games! I know last years team could have been in the same position this team is if that was done. For someone to question a win this far into the playoffs simply has some" old-disgruntled" feelings about the Rebels program. Do what you have to do to win Rebels! Good job and Good Luck!

I'm not sure why you have a bug up your rear end when it comes to me and Boone. I've never had a reason to dislike them. Never. Rooted for them last year as well. Big fan of JOpp.

 

I just don't see how your offense can struggle and yet you choose to only allow your talented qb to throw 3 passes. I'm glad they won. I predicted they would win. I just think whomever is calling their offense failed.

But everyone always said big school (4A, now 6A) stinks in N.KY. The change here was when the KHSAA started rotating what districts you play in the playoffs. Till this time the N.Ky. big school district was always matched with Trinity. Now they rotate who they play and you have seen many teams from the N.Ky. district win games in the playoffs. Trinity's strength should not be an indictment of N.Ky. big school fottball. No doubt it was a little down this year but not as bad as some think. Boone County always plays Scott County well. I don't know what your issues are with Boone and I really don't care. I never pointed you out in my comment so maybe you should stop pointing the finger at yourself buddy. We don't always agree with calls by coaches, but when they make the calls that get the "W", there's nothing to say but good job coaches no matter what school they're from. Please drop the anger and be a friendly Bluegrass supporter.

I'm stunned that you think I have "issues" with Boone.

 

I'm one of the few that support Coach McQ unlike many at Boone.

 

I'm a supporter of Coach Niederman. I like the Schwartz kid. My support is legit. I just think they made it harder on themselves than necessary.

I agree 100% Clyde. When it comes down to winning the state semi final game you can't be counting on a blocked punt or an Int to win the game for you. You have to be able to pull out all your weapons when it's time to get a score. Scott Con isnt going to allow a blocked punt on the ten yard line. Competition they will see this Friday will be different then they have seen all year.
