Holy Cross has some speed but not as much as Mayfield. I have seen both this year.

Mayfield win this one hopefully gets a challenge because the following week will be against Beechwood who hasn't been tested at all in the playoff and won't be this week against Frankfort. That can hurt a team when you get this far in the playoffs.

Mayfield 35 -7. D has been solid all year, offense improves week in and week out.

Like Country Day, is this Louisville Holy Cross' first trip to the boondocks(as the Country Day announcer put it)?

Heard a few starters for Mayfield are out? Could make a difference in the game.

I believe in Jonathan Jackson. Mayfield wins.

I do as well, but I think this is going to be a harder game to win than many think.

Mayfield has lost two starters for the year, but those guys have been out for several weeks.

LHC has less than 500 total passing yards for the season, I am told. That being said, I look for them to try to run it up the gut and if that doesn't work I guess they will have to try something they don't do very often.

Who were the two starters and how long have they been out?

Stewart Mills, OLB ... tore his ACL against Paducah Tilghman early in the season.

Jay McAlpin, C ... broken ankle, I think, a few weeks ago.

Holy Cross 17-14. Tougher schedule pays off.

Mayfield 28-7. Better team wins

Unlike many of my friends I do think this is a game that the Cardinals will have to play very good football to win. I am wondering how you figure that LHC has the tougher schedule though. I did a little digging and I could not find any record of the providence team that LHC beat, but outside of that game here are a few things I dug up, please consider that I am just a fan that got these figures off the internet so there could be some mistakes.

Records of teams LHC beat- 48-77

Records of teams MHS beat- 61-71

Teams LHC beat still in playoffs- 1

Teams MHS beat still in playoffs- 2

Quality wins by LHC- Jeffersontown

Quality wins by MHS- Paducah Tilgman, Murray

LHC state ranking- 70

MHS state ranking- 17

Any members please feel free to correct me on my data if it is wrong, and remember, I could not find stats for providence. If my findings are even close to correct I dont think that anyone could honestly say that LHC has played a tougher schedule than MHS. LHC may very well win but it will not be because their schedule was any tougher than the Cardinals.

Providence went 5-5 and lost in the first round of the playoffs.
