That's what I was thinking when I read that. You kind of cringe, but then you realize all the adrenalin and youthful exuberance that's charging through a teenager in a moment like that.

Trying to guide readers words is not working. I can see right through that. Those are not the only 2 ways you can look at their comments. Maybe they really think they are going to win and that's why they are saying that. I dont know for sure how they feel, but I highly doubt they are "really really scared." Yeah they have to back-up what they said, but that doesn't mean they are scared or fools. If Highlands wins, would that mean you would be the fool?

Spot on...same can be said for the multiple comments made by CovCath football players to Highlands students a few weeks back. They are all young people excited about this opportunity. Nothing more, nothing less.

Some of us still are 15 at heart and are so jealous of the innocent convictions possessed by such. With that said, Cov Cath gave birds the best game I saw all season. I can't wait to see how many points difference home field advantage creates. Birds win in a thriller (well, for the first three quarters then conditioning will take over in the fourth) 56-35.

Never said they were. It just seems like Highlands takes conditioning to another level. Having survived Jingle Jangles and Triple-Sessions with Duffy, I think Dale has taken it one step further. Also, he is such an exciting person to talk to it makes it tough not to drink the Kool-Aid.

If CovCath controls the line of scrimmage and plays keep away from PT they can win. However, I have yet to see any team do this. IMO the only reason CovCath kept it close in the first game was because of some inopportune turnovers by the Birds. I thought the Colonels did a nice job answering offensively each time the Birds scored though. Its going to come down to defense and turnovers. Whoever can make more stops and win the turnover battle will win.

You know what you get w/ PT and Gray. This game comes down to Bir. Do the Birds go the Belicheck route and take away the major strength of the opponent and make another part beat you. Can Bir, w/ Gray bottled up, stretch the Birds enough? Does he have the arm strength, and do the Colonels have the receivers to stretch Highlands in the deep 3rd??? In my opinion, you commit to taking away Gray and see if CovCath can match you point for point in the passing game. Easier said than done, but that's why they call it strategy. Even the greatest laid plans get blown up after a few possessions.

I would be a fool but I am sticking to my gut saying the REAL highlands fans are nervous about this matchup. I think the people see the CCH train is here to stay
