I am a strong believer in home field also. I really think it will be a benefit in Highlands favor.

This is the state championship. They should just crown the winner and let everyone enjoy their Thanksgiving while getting the basketball guys in the gym. Dragging this fiasco of a playoff scenario out 2 more weeks is just stupid.

They are the defending champ, but we will see which game is closer the Highlands/Cov Cath game, or the winner of the Highlands/Cov Cath game and the winner of the Boyle/Lex Cath game.

I agree... both Lexcath and Boyle are tough. The winner of this one cannot pack it in at all.

As it's been said before, records go out the window when these two teams play. Whoever wins this game better not overlook Boyle or Lex Cath. Bengals/Steelers today, Highlands/Cov Cath Friday. What a great football week!!!

Just not having the change from Friday night to Saturday afternoon was mentioned in the threads before the first game so in this case it might have an additional advantage above just playing at home.

Covington Catholic’s recent slow starts would be a concern if I were a Cov. Cath. fan. Against Conner, Rowan and Ashland the Cov. Cath. offense was an averge only 9 points better than their last three opponents at the half. While Highlands against Ryle, Boyd and Johnson Central was up an average of 45 points.

 

I wouldn’t defer if I was Cov. Cath.

That isn't a recent trend. That has been the case all season. Deferring if they win the toss is interesting strategy and I think I agree with you.

Can the Bluebirds have 10 penalties for 120 yards (like friday against JC) and expect to win? If they leave points on the field, I think CC can make them pay. CC is the underdog in this matchup and will definately throw everything they have at Highlands friday. These games are always exciting.
