See the Conner/Franklin County game for a preview.

This is the 4A State Championship game, IMO.

'Birds 48-35.

Since 1982 they've met 13 times in the playoffs and 11 times the winner won the championship. Birds lead 8 to 5 in the postseason series.

Birds 42-31

Very tough game for me to pick; regardless of who wins, I think this game ends up similar to their last meeting. This will be the game that I am at next week, good luck to both teams.

The only way I see Cov pulling the upset is by the narrowest of margins in the last minute or OT. Highlands has the capability to win big. Good luck to both teams as the battle at the Fort.

Also, I predict parking will be a mess on Friday night...

I've said this before on here. DCM is my favorite venue for a big game. Love the compact feel.

Ditto! As for parking, I've got the best spot, my garage! Get there early, park in a friend's driveway, or wear your walking shoes!

What time will kickoff be? 7:00? 7:30?

Guessing 7:30 as the others but since opponent is close, they may change it. Not sure how that works. I'll be firmly in my perch atop the "crow's nest" 45 minutes prior to game time.

In order for Highlands to advance to the semifinal, the Highlands football program will have to go 6-0 vs. the Covington Catholic football program this year. The frosh teams played twice, the JV teams played twice, and of course the varsity played once already during the regular season, with HHS winning these five contests. Going 6-0 vs. a program like CovCath's is no easy task.

I would think so. In 2007 HHS only beat CCH 28-14 at CCH then beat CCH 40-0 at HHS in the playoffs. Also, CCH beat HHS on a last-second TD at HHS then beat HHS by 10 at CCH in the 2006 playoffs. Home field does seem to mean something.
