JJ Jude Sets State Rushing Record

Featured Replies

^ Me being a fan of Trinity, has nothing to do with it. Imagine if I were a fan of Holmes. Would my argument hold more weight? Do you not see the hypocrisy in breaking records, by railing inferior opponents?

Well RP, isn't it true that based upon scores every single Trinity opponent was inferior? Hasn't Quick put up some crazy impressive receiving numbers this year? Are those not any good based upon Trinity playing inferior opponents the whole year?

If all I wanted to do was set a record, I would much rather attempt it against Johnson central's schedule.

Call or email the coach with your concerns, don't hide on here, if you feel so strongly about how the JC program is run, contact the coach or the player's parents. Tell them your concerns about how their son got a record. I can tell you this, you won't find a more classy kid that stays out of trouble and has one of the best work ethics that I have ever seen for a high school player. So, don't cheapen his accomplishments with your comments about the JC way of doing things.

We are all hiding. That's why we have these usernames. I doubt your birth certificate says Sports101.

Do you know the fashion of our 72-0 win? What should we have done? Play our 3's from jump street? That's a very weak comparison.

This thread is about the individual accomplishments of a hard working kid who will go down in Ky history as one of most prolific rushers there has ever been. Let's give the kid his due and leave the arrows for Matney for another thread.

JJ can't help that he's from Johnson County and their schedule, is commensurate with the location of their school for the most part. I suppose if they had the funding a private school like Trinity has to be able to schedule games in Indy and Nashvile and Cincinnati maybe their schedule could be better.

It always amazes me that some on this site want to tear down the accomplishments of others. Let's be satisfied with recognizing the tremendous accomplishments of all kids and programs.

8500 yards is an amazing accomplishment. Congratulations to him and his family.

He doesn't have inflated stats......35 carries last night? Seriously?

Congratulation to JJ!

This thread has gotten way off topic. What we should be talking about is the fact that Wales is right there with JJ. Depending on what happens in the playoffs these two could finish with very, very similar numbers. As fans of high school football we should appreciate the fact that we have had the opportunity to have the two most productive backs in KY history play at the same time in our state! These guys will finish in the top 25 nationally in rushing yards for a career!!!! That is amazing and we have had the privilage of watching it. WOW!!!

I texted JJ's dad with some of the well wishes that everyone on here has posted this year and he said thanks. They are very proud of JJ's football accomplishments but let me tell you the entire family is more proud of him as a young man. I don't pretend to be a close family member and like i've said before I've only seen JJ a few times as he's grown up and talked to his parents occasionally but i've seen that this kid has ALWAYS worked hard. To anyone that has met him they will tell you that he truly is one of the most polite and hard working young men you will ever meet.

To RockPride I just want to say congratulations on Trinity's great season. Enjoy it like I am enjoying JJ breaking this record. Your inability to understand the appropriate place to post certain comments has brought on no hard feelings.

To all of the Highlands fans that say JJ's run is now over. I just want to say that i am from Lawrence County and i was around when LC took the #4 all time rushing yardage RB and the #2 all time recieving yardage WR on the same team up to Highlands and promptly got our BUTTS WHIPPED!!!

Stats are fun, but it takes a complete team to beat Highlands!!!!! That's a lesson i will NEVER forget! With that being said i do believe JC is better than the record shows. Hopefully they can pull off the upset?

You may not have intended this, but you've officially made this a Trinity thread.

Congrats to JJ.

Congrats to JJ.. Can't wait to see him next week against the Birds.

For those upset with some of the posts in this thread, there is one person to blame - Coach Matney. I am sure every person posting in here has the utmost respect for Jude and applauds him for a great accomplishment. I am starting a new thread to discuss Coach Matney's hand in this record. Let the rest of the posts in this thread focus on J.J. Jude.

First of all any kid that runs for 8000 yards is getting alot of yards against lesser opponents. Essentially the score of these games would have to be 72 to 65 for you to say this record is legit? I think maybe you havnt been close enough to any record to be able to comment on one. Trinity has blown teams out all year,Maybe we should discount every stat that any player has put up after being ahead by 28 points and just take them off the books. Would you be in agreement with that? Even better every team that trinity has played has been a lessor opponent so maybe we should just throw the whole season out.

^ I am not bitter about a kid breaking a state record. I am bitter in that it happened at the expense of another kid (now an adult). I salute JJ. He seems to be an awesome young man. I think the manner that "said" record was broken, is without class. The sport is not played to break records, it's to win ballgames, and to do so with some honor and respect towards your opponents. The achievements are ancillary.

Congrats to the young Mr.Jude t. What a great accomplishment for him. People can say what they want to about his coach and all but I don't think that shouold not take away from this kids accomplishments. That, imo, is disrespecting j.j. Jude. This kid has went out and did his job, run the football and he has done it edxcellent enough to gain a state record.

I think that his coach is a classless jerk as well, is jmo but it seems that Matney is about Matney but that is not the subject here. J..J Jude is the one that shoukd be focused on, not his coach.

Again, congrats to J.J, Jude on our well deserved state record. :thumb:

I mentioned nothing of Trinity....you did.

Do what you will.....take that argument to a thread about Trinity. We're not a part of this one.
