There was a very serious accident out on the highway today. It may have been related to that.

That's strange, I had just been thinking of this situation today. I saw a police officer driving pretty fast through a neighborhood in Louisville. It doesn't really bother me usually, but it's not cool to be going 40 mph or more where kids could be potentially playing.

I couldn't agree more. Rather have them in front of me than behind me and I stay paranoid haha.

If memory serves me the McCreary County Sheriff's department lost a 3 to 5 million dollar case a few years ago when a cop in a cruiser driving too fast around town killed some people in an accident. It kills me cops do this, but they will regardless, and it's even worse when their lack of respect of the laws the enforce cost someone else their life.

I hear ya! An incident a couple years ago has made me so nervous every time I see a police car. I was pulled over and got a ticket because I "rolled" through a stop sign. I was in total surprise and shock because this is a road that I travel daily, and i know all the stops. I was so nervous that I could not produce my papers fast enough for him. Then the officer said, " I am about to give you a ticket for being disorganized." (I will add that it was June 30th, last day of the month.)

So now if a police car is around a pretty much pull over and wait for it to pass because after that incident, I am always paranoid. So if you are annoyed by the person who comes to a complete stop and takes a long pause at that stop sign, it is probably me!

So you are basically saying that you got a ticket for rolling through a stop sign (which is illegal) and now you actually stop at all stop signs? Isnt that what you are supposed to do at stop signs? Sounds like a job well done by the police officer.

I got pulled over about a year and a half ago driving from Stillwater, OK to Memphis, TN (about an 7.5 hour trip) and it was simply because I didn't want to get in any trouble (basically was a little paranoid for no reason).

 

It was late and night, speed limit was 70 I think, I was going about 78 in the fast lane. I start coming up on a police officer in the right lane so I just casually slowed down and got behind him (not tailgaiting by any means). The cruiser begins to slow down big time, I didn't know what was going on, so I went ahead and passed him on the left side, right at the speed limit. Minute or two later I got pulled over and I had no idea what I had just done.

 

Our car was full of boxes and luggage because we were traveling for work. After asking the usual, "where ya coming from, where ya going" he asked why I slowed down and got behind him. I'm not sure what my exact response was, but something along the lines of, "Oh I just never feel comfortable passing a police officer, even if I'm going right at the speed limit." He believed me, but then explained that my behavior seemed very suspicious because a lot of times someone with drugs, stolen car, or something crazy like that would react the same way I did. So he just wanted to check it out. I didn't do anything wrong, but my unusual, paranoid behavior had gotten me pulled over.

 

Lesson learned...just drive normal and you have nothing to worry about lol.

University of Pikeville PD just blew by me on 64 near Winchester. Humping it back to the Ville.

I have a friend thats a deputy sheriff east of I-75. He recieved a speeding ticket in western Kentucky about a month ago. He said when he came up to the car the state trooper asked him if he was in a hurry. He said he was on a hunting trip and hoped he would understand as he showed him his badge. The trooper said, "You ought to know better." Then wrote him a ticket. I thought it was hilarious but my buddy isn't over it yet.
