This is the old Athletic Director for Pendleton County, who for some reason openly voted for the district to have a blind draw every year.

Tom Woofter is a great guy, a member of the 10th Region Hall of Fame, and as stated, the former athletic director at Pendleton County high school. He did much for PC and for the 10th Region.

 

Tom, like many of us was old school, and believed that since the state tournament itself was not seeded, and that the district tournaments are extensions of the state tournament, that they too sholud not be seeded, and cast the deciding vote to not seed the 38th.

 

In 2005 Pendleton County and Brossart laid over the 10th Region and drew each other in the opening round of the 38th District tournament, played at Bracken County High School. As stated, the game arguably was the regional championship game. Fortunately for Mr. Woofter the Wildcats prevailed that night and Tom escaped what would have been a mob lynching that night had the Mustangs come out on top. Pendleton County went on to win the 10th Region Championship that year. At the next redistricting Brossart joined the seeded 37th District.

We'll find out right away. The first 4 games out of the gate are brutal. I think by season's end Scott will be a top 5 team in the region but a preseason ranking of 8 is fair IMO.

Should be a very interesting season this year. The 10th is the most wide open I have seen it in years. Hope all teams stay injury free and I am excited about the upcoming season....should be a great one.

One reason why teams should seed.

It's time for Coach Wise and the Mont. Co. Indians live up to this ranking. This team has the talent and depth to do just that. will take alittle time to adapt to the new coach's system, but will get better as season progresses. GO INDIANS!!

Pendleton County beat Ludlow by about 40.

Beechwood beat Augusta by 5

 

Owen Co. beat Scott by 8

Depth?? Who (with any experience) will come off the bench for MC and be able to fill in for the starters??

 

Not knowing who the starters will be they will most likely have either Keenan Kelley (6'3 F/C) or Tanner Combs (6'6 C) coming off the bench along with Sophomore Darius Jones who saw some minutes last year along with Zack Burton (high energy, good defender). Other than that they really do not have much varsity experience coming back from 8 down, but I will say this, they have an EXTREMELY talented young group. I would not be surprised to see a few freshman get some action and quite possibly an 8th grader or two get some minutes. MC has a 6'7 8th grader that could get some minutes if size is needed.

Harrison County has plenty of depth, talent, and athleticism. If they can commit to the defensive end, they will be the team to beat this year. Scott Kendall, Jordan Stubbs, Dillon Pulliam, and Caleb Ford are all legit threats to score anytime on offense. Tyler Wagner and J.D Kuntz are the big men on this team, and are very physical which is good for the Breds. Jordan Martin, Grant Carr, Mason Ritchie, and Tommy Vallandingham are all quality bench players who will get solid playing time and contribute. Coach Reitz is a great coach, with a lot of talent on his hands. This should be a good team and fun team to watch.
