It seems every year when there is talk on the 10th region, it involves the Fieldhouse.

It seems most everyone is picking Montgomery, Pendleton and Harrison as the three favorite teams to win the 10th, with several others close behind. I was wondering who are the key losses and key returning players for each team? I think Montgomery rightfully is favorite because of home court advantage during regionals, but quality depth could be the deciding factor.

Agree Montgomery Co has the advantage of home court....but they also have a new coach. He has the talent to win the region. They are still my #1 pick, with PC right behind them. Don't count out Brossart, Harrison and GRC. Mason Co could be a contender if Harris and Black play.

 

No one from Mason Co will answer my question on their status for basketball.

 

Key losses for GRC is most of any team in the region. We still return starter Bopper Stenzel, and reserves Adam Fatkin, and Charlie Rogers with the "most" expereince.

Mason Co's Harris has a serious injury from football and his basketball season is in doubt. Tyler Black will be playing.

Tyler Black out until mid-January. He tore ankle ligaments and had to have surgery.

Didn't know that about Tyler Black. I considered him the top player in the region for this season. Hate to hear that news.

Tyler Black according to some in his family will be back before mid January. More like sometime in December providing all goes well with his recovery.

I hope his recovery goes smoothly and he returns when 100%.

Clark County being 6th is the biggest shocker IMO. I would have to think they are top two or three.

 

Our JV only lost 3 games last year against a very brutal schedule. Don't think we lost a game in the region. This will be our varsity this year + Bopper Stenzel. Clark will be much better than this ranking.

Harrison playing Pendleton in first round of district could be a repeat of the Brossart vs. Pendleton match up in the play in game in 2005. Some may argue but in my opinion that was the Regional Finals that year.

This ranking has Scott at #8. How do you feel about that ranking?

We'll find out right away. The first 4 games out of the gate are brutal. I think by season's end Scott will be a top 5 team in the region but a preseason ranking of 8 is fair IMO.
