Armageddon on the basketball court if Pendleton and Harrison draw each other in first round of district. The draw may keep a good team out of region. Brossart is VERY underrated. They will be a force for the next few years.

One of the reason I like seeding the districts.

On the player rankings. I see where Tyler Black was ranked, but not Harris.???? I know both have suffered injuries in football. Are either even going to play basketball this year?

Seeding seems like the only fair way but I'm just a fan! That will be a tense draw.

Goldie can you post the 11th and 8th?

Already posted the 8th.

I was suprised Antrobus was on there too. I feel Bopper belongs in the top 10. Was he a scorer last year? Didn't need him to score. He played his role very well. One stat that most don't see is that Bopper had several games with NO turnovers....unheard of for a PG.

Will be interesting to see at the end of the season how the players have preformed over the season and how they should be ranked then. Last year Cory Rogers was not ranked in the top 10 in the Cats'Pause rankings, but ended up getting the 10th Region player of the year.idunno.gif

I assume you mean you were surprised Antrobus wasn't on there, instead of was. Antrobus came on very strong at the end of the year for the Wildcats. It finally clicked with him that Pendleton needs him as more than just a threat from long range. He's learned to play a little D, and attack the rim. While he certainly wasn't the most talented player on the floor, he was the best player on the floor when Pendleton County beat Mason County in the Regional Semi's last year.

Excellent point on Corey Rogers being left off the list last year. That was an omission for the ages, and it goes to show how we as fans make a big deal about these player and team pre-season rankings, but in reality they mean very little.

We (Brossart) were ranked 6th in the 10th Region and 13th in Northern Kentucky in 2000 when we won the regional title, so perhaps Mr. Fraysure's opinion of us bodes well for our future.

I guess if each of us who post here and are rabid fans of a specific team were to name the players they think should be in the top ten, the top ten would be the top twenty. Mustang Junior Justin Saunders may not have earned Mr. Fraysure's respect here in the pre-season, but I will be interested in hearing what he thinks of him come the post-season when it counts for something.

Once again, ridiculous that the 38th District doesn't seed. Pendleton and Harrison have been the best two teams in the district for as long as i can remember, they've played in the first round 4 out of the 6 years that we've had these teams in the district.

The Tom Woofter curse!

I am of the opinion that seeding should be statewide. If you want quality regional tournaments, that's the only way to go.

Didn't watch much boys basketball last year, but from what little I did see of Pendleton's Antrobus, I have a hard time thinking there are ten other players in the region better than him.

But I cut Fraysure some slack. That's a tough job that will always result in people feeling someone got slighted.

Saunders is a Top 5 player IMO. I'd go Prewitt, Monroe, McGovney, Saunders and Gillispie. Jmo.

Why I like how some writers will have a coaches poll of the teams and players to be listed.

It's time for Coach Wise and the Mont. Co. Indians live up to this ranking. This team has the talent and depth to do just that. will take alittle time to adapt to the new coach's system, but will get better as season progresses. GO INDIANS!!

"Brossart is VERY underrated"........... THAT IS PUTTING IT LIGHTLY!!!!!!!:thumb:

I'm not a big fan of these polls. You have a guy who does not see all teams play, hears a few names so assumes they must be good players. Than how do you rank teams that have not even played a game or know who will be returning??

But it is a starting point for conversation. I'm glad to see P-county up near the top. I think they will have a very nice ball club and glad to see others mentioning the Antrobus kid as a top player. Can't argue about any of the boys being mentioned, as all are good players. There will be a few that sneak up on the list as the season ends. Nate Losey of Camp. Co. comes to mind as a huge preseason miss last year.

I am happy to say the 10th is wide open this year. I don't think any one or two teams will dominate. That just leaves us with a lot of fun games to watch this year.

Good luck to all teams and players. Stay healthy young men!
