September 22, 201115 yr That makes sense. In sportsfan's initial post it came off as if he was saying it was a black thing but I think he was asking and not indicting. Ya I was struggling with the wording to get out what I was trying to say/ask. There goes all political aspirations I ever had
September 22, 201115 yr I used to do some community service in high school literally right there. Would have never guessed it was a place with a lot of drugs. That's what they say about rich people in the suburbs, they can always afford more drugs and usually without people knowing. Well at least for a while.
September 22, 201115 yr I have known for over a year Simpson was a pot smoker. Peko as well, but I'm sure that comes to no surprise. Lot's of athletes do. Look at Tim Lincecum. I don't think people would have a huge issue with the smoking part, but distribution is just stupid.
September 22, 201115 yr Forget the pot. Simpson should have been arrested for his 4th quarter, third down, drive killing drop against the Broncos. :scared:
September 22, 201115 yr They may not have gotten arrested because they could be cooperating with authorities. No matter the size of the bust investigators are always trying to move up the ladder so they could have offered Simpson some sort of deal in turn for help in setting up his supplier who should be pushing quite a bit of pot. If Simpson has five or six pounds then the guys he's getting it from have dozens/hundreds. That's who most DEA agencies want. If he didn't go to jail and the facts about the bust are accurate, then IMO this is what's going on.

They don't detain people with 6 lbs., ask them who has more, and let them go free, otherwise we'd have no one in jail for marijuana charges.

September 22, 201115 yr The other possibility is the authorities could be making sure they have all their ducks in a row before making an arrest because Collins and Simpson will have nearly unlimited resources to defend against the charges so the coppers need to get it right the first time.

Bingo! With NFL money they will be able to afford defense uncharacteristic of a lot of drug cases. Those doing the investigation are going to have to build a great case to get a lot of the charges they want to press to stick.

Possibly but if they really wanted to get his supplier they wouldn't want them to know thy he's been arrested. Word travels quick in the dope game, especially that high up and especially with an NFL figure. There could have been an instance in which Simpson was not formally arrested but acknowledged he could still be facing charges. If they are trying to pursue the supplier they would not formally detain Simpson until 1.) they make a buy off the distributor with Simpsons help 2.) make an arrest to the distributor or 3.) will not arrest Simpson until he forecloses on all information that could help investigators. I could easily see them using Simpson to "play ball" and hold whatever charges he's facing over his head until he either quits cooperating or they bust someone thanks to information given by his cooperation. What he actually gets charged with can be altered by any cooperation he does or doesn't have with investigators.

But this is out there and I'm sure that supplier has heard it.
