When I think of Trinity what I will always remember, was the game in 2008 against SK. The Trinity student section singing "na na na na hey hey good by" as the Simon Kenton QB was being put in an ambulance on the field in a neck brace. Thats class.

I'd hate for anyone to label Ft. Thomas, Highlands, Northern Kentucky or the USA by some of the garbage that spewed out of my head at age 17.

It is a simple term my friend. "Boundaries" Here in NKY we are bound by geography. Ryle and Boone County can only accept students that live within their geographical district. Dixie, Simon Kenton are allowed to accept tuition paying students and do have open enrollment. With the exception of Boone County employees, you must live in the geographical boundaries of your school district. This is due to the growth of Boone county schools, the 3rd largest district in Ky after Jefferson county and Fayette county. Highlands, Newport Catholic, Beechwood Independent, Covington Catholic do not have boundaries and are smaller schools

There is no reason to throw former players names out here but it is the truth, you should not deny it.

 

Football in NKY is second best in the state, as a whole. There are a few communities in NKY which put together programs that cannot compete but at the same time, have very low expectations when competing; based on their population, economic level, and history of poor academics. But can somebody please start a thread, why can't public schools in Louisville ever compete with T and X? I will bet any amount of money that Manual, Male, Seneca, and Ballard have greater athletes walking their halls than any NKY 6A program. How come they can't get it done? the end.

 

I believe BF is referring to the relative importance placed on education vs football by the overwhelming majority of the parents at Highlands. Education is a clear number one, football or not. A few players have had to learn that the hard way.

I agree with you 100%. I would bet just about everyone on this sight has done something that we want no one to know about. My point is if you are going to throw stones, well you know the rest. Bottem line, if you are going to poke at NKY some of us are going to poke back.

It's simple if you ask me. If you live in or around Lousivlle and winning a state championship is one of your top priorities you can go to Trinity and to a much lesser extent St. X and that pretty much is it to have a legitimate shot. If you live in NKY and you have the same priority then you can go to Beechwood, NCC, Highlands, Cov Cath and recently Ryle and Simon Kenton. I'm sorry but if you put just these NKY teams together which would still draw from a poplulation base I'm guessing here about half the size of the Louisville metro area they wax Trinity every year. The area's although in the same state are set up very differently in terms of open enrollment, draw area's, tradition, etc. NKY has imo the best all around football in the state just not the top program.

Also why is NKY 6-A getting picked on, they at least send teams pretty deep or to the championship game. Pick on the 2nd biggest metro area in the state and see what their problem is.

Lexington deserves this thread more than NKY really. Their 6A has been pathetic.
