Wow...I am shocked by the score. Mason Co ranked in the top 10 in 3A and Lafayette not ranked in the top 10 in 6A. Guess it showes the difference it the classes. Lafayette is in our district this year along with Madison Central, and Tates Creek...tuff district.

It's not the difference in classes as much as Mason lacks a lot on the line on both sides of the ball, plus a very young quarterback under a lot of pressure.

Agreed. Mason will be much better as the year progresses, but they have had a ton of quality graduation losses over the last couple of seasons. Probably should put this one on the back-burner and look ahead. Really nice win for Lafayette.

Lafayette 50, Mason Co. 0: William Johnson ran for two touchdowns and scored another on a punt return and the Generals cruised past host Mason County in the Meadowview Regional Kickoff Classic. Jeremy Smith added a pair of TD runs.

Mason County running back/linebacker Josh Harris, who has committed to play at Kentucky, ran for 32 yards on 11 carries.

I would like to see a good 6A team from Lex once in a while.

Hopefully Mason can bounce back from this one and put it behind them, but never lose the felling they got after this one.

Mason is not a top 10 3A team. Too many people seem to think a couple of good players can carry a team. That works for basketball but not football. Mason has a tremendous challenge in front of them.

Did not think Laf. would beat Mason like this even though Mason has lost a lot of talent form last year. Good win for Laf. and I am confident Mason will keep playing hard and compete this season.
