Pretty sure they shouldn't have any thing to fix based off what you've told us the past few weeks it seemed like this team was clicking on all cylinders.

SK will not play anybody as good as ST X this season until the playoffs. With that said SK will win a lot of ball games. I would put ST X as one of the top teams in 6A.

SK will face more talented teams this season, but probably not as disciplined.

Assuming this is a "down" year for St. X, I am surprised to see SK didn't even score.

Had a great time at SK tonite and St X fans are a hoot to sit with, they even said this would be a down year in UK#1 defense he is right SK will not play anyone as tough as St X was tonite. They have over 100 dressed players and no one played both ways Gold Offense and White Defense. SK will do fine in regular season. JD

not sure what game you were watching, but SK was outplayed in all facets. Couldn't throw or run, stop the run or the pass. Special teams were a mess. Lots of work to be done in Independence.

Good thing for SK this is a "down year" for X! But, someone told us SK was not going to lose, not even a scrimmage, this year. Hmmm

We are nowhere near that good, Bert. Simon Kenton is just surprisingly terrible. Given the way the Pioneers played tonight, plus the beating that Covington Catholic put on Ryle, it looks like Dixie Heights is definitely the class of 6A in NKY.

I pretty much figured that at the end of last season. Between the players that Ryle and Simon Kenton lost last season, I considered Dixie to be the best of NKY 6A for this season and will be really surprised if it does not end that way.

SK was outplayed in every facet of the game but I knew they would be a work in progress. Hard to gauge if they will be able to move the chains via the ground since both their one and two backs didn't even dress. I thought Kuntz did a good job for his first game but he was running for his life most of the night and that worries me a bit since he's so thin. Surprised that X put it in the air as much as they did but they seem to have a nice QB and some sure handed pass catchers. SK had one shot at scoring after recovering a fumble late in the second quarter but didn't move the ball and a fg was blocked. X wasn't the same X team we faced in '09 but they aren't chopped liver either.

Lots of new starters for SK; I hardly recognized a lot of the kids this year. Most notable difference in the LB corps. I like the idea of the sophomore at QB; builds program in longer run but agree with Neer, needs some more bulk. Impressed with the discipline of St. X on the sidelines, on the field although a couple of the 15 yarders were a little surprising.

 

I'm pretty sure I saw Swanson selling Kettle Corn tonight. He returned kicks, held the one blocked FG, played back, receiver, safety etc...he's going to be sore tomorrow.
