Its that wonderful time of year again. Who else is going down? Went down today, had a goetta calzone and the usual goetta balls. LOVE IT

I've never been, but I freakin' love myself some goetta.

Had Goetta calzone , Goetta Crepe , Cherry Strudle and Goetta Belgian Waffle with strawberries and cream Yum !

Wish I could be up there — I miss all the festivals and such that I used to hit up every weekend back in the day.

 

May have to go to Kroger and pick up some Gliers and eggs and have my own little Goettafest at home. I love that my Kroger carries the stuff now (albeit at a premium price).

I tried this on Sunday and failed miserably. The guy who won finished eating 10 coneys in 2 minutes and 21 seconds. By the time I got my first coney down the guy already had 3 of them finished.

This year was the 4th or 5th time I've been. The goetta burrito and goetta balls are always good, but I opted for a goetta egg roll and goetta hot brown. They were both pretty awesome. One of my buddies got goetta nachos, and they looked pretty fantastic as well.

I love Glier's but Finke's is the best.

 

I'm with you there. Finke's has a little more spice to it. There's nothing better for Sunday brunch than a Finke's goetta, egg and cheese sandwich on toasted bread.

Ah Tony , I was raised on goetta . My mother , her sister and my grandmother ( dads mom ) all had their own recipe all were delicious . When I Married , my Mother in Law had her own recipe . I can remember my father using a hand grinder on left over pork roast and adding spices and pinhead oatmeal to make it.Iguess you have to be of German ancestry to appreciate it . Not Italian .
